I would never buy seed off ebay, they can claim anything. 5-7 years later when it fruits, your rare citrus turns out to be a sour orange. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

The problem with FL, is once the trees are out of the screen houses disease is a major issue. And by law, no citrus plants can be brought out of FL. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

If a person is interested in very high levels anthocyanins for their health they should drink 6 oz. of pure Pomegranate juice per day. Very few items deliver more anthocyanins than 100 % pure Pomegranate juice. - Millet |

Yes true, but for me blood orange tastes better and has even more.
Best of all is european blueberry, which is also blue inside. |

Sanguiello, blood oranges do contain a good amount of anthocyanins, and to many people they do taste good, but they don't come close to the amount of anthocyanins in pure pomegranate juice. - Millet |

Depends ... colour is not colour.
The darker the colour is, the most valueable the anthocyan is ... so black is best, white is least.
Moro for instance makes a darker juice than pomegranate. |

Personally I'm interested in blood oranges because they are so different compared to any other citrus varieties. I adore the taste and the 'bloody' color, the darker the better.
The fact that the fruits are only available for a couple of weeks each year makes the plants even more appealing to me. Unfortunately the color only develops under specific circumstances which I am apparently unable to provide to the plants. But I find the taste of blood oranges always better then the taste of common oranges, even when the blood coloration is absent! _________________ - Marc

Marc, the better taste comes from the fact, that blood oranges have also much more vitamins and minerals as modern oranges, who have at all much more sugar.
You could have coloured fruits, if you put your trees outside when it has a mild frost -2 ° C - -4 ° C. |

Orange this time.
The dominating part shows in the form of the fruit and the top layer of it. |
