Looking at the pictures of "Rubino Rosso" at agrumes passion forum, I do not think, that there is clementina on those pictures - look at the thick rind and number of segments.
My personal bet is, that it is some of OTA or OMO hybrids on those pictures and in some nursery they gave it the name "Rubino rosso". In italian nurseries - especially, those who sell ornamental citrusies in pots, they do not care too much about real name of the variety.

I was starting to think in that direction also.

Some interesting varieties they have. I wonder if they can also provide unlisted varieties... Smile
I think I will send them an email...

Next month I'll be going to Stuttgart in Germany for a couple of days for work. I will make use of that trip to visit Zitronenlust, it's on the way back home so that's not a problem. They have some stuff I'm interested in. Smile
I could also visit FLora Toscana when I'm there but that's located 100km further away from home, which will make the already long trip back home even longer...

I didn't know there's such a thing as a 'ruby valencia orange'... Shocked

Interesting, but (of course) controversial...
