mksmth, and after all that 'rollercoaster', when a season of 100+ F starts in Tulsa ?
Season of Hail hazard starts today here, just installed protection over my inground lemon tree (the only inground stuff I protect).
Overall, if - somehow - hail and strong wind miss my byd, this could be a good season for inground fruit trees/shrubs/wines.

ivica
if we are lucky late May and June will be decent, but come July?August the 100's start showing up. Oh how i hate hail!!!We have always had hail storms here but it really seems like they are getting more frequent and much larger stones. I just bought a new to me car and i swear the hail storms are following me around. Fortunately i have been able to avoid any damages
Just last week about an hour from here in Oklahoma City they had hail the size of baseballs.
this was from a few years ago but it is by far one of the worst I have seen. This guys pool just starts to boil. I have always wondered what the plant is in the fore ground. Looks like it could be citrus but knowing what sells most here its probably a hibiscus or gardenia.
Edit-at 3:04 someone says "look at moms orange tree" Id be pissed if someone didnt bring mine in under the porch. LOL

Mike, Ah, that reminds me on:
And as he drove on, the rain clouds dragged down the sky after him for, though he did not know it, Rob McKenna was a Rain God. All he knew was that his working days were miserable and he had a succession of lousy holidays. All the clouds knew was that they loved him and wanted to be near him, to cherish him and to water him. http://www.inle.org/quotes/dadams.html

Today will probably become the hottest day of the year, with an expected high temperature of up to 35°C/95°F. That's exceptionally high for our area. Luckily it will only last for one day as tomorrow the expected high temperature will be 'only' 25°C/77°F.
Yesterday the highest temperature was 32°C/90°F. By the end of the day I noticed some leaf burn on some of the young shoots on my plants, so I decided tot keep the plants in a shadow area today.

We've been enjoying a moderately hot and dry weather during the last couple of months...
This is our weather forecast for the next week which, to all appearances, continues the hot & dry trend...

I think people around here, including me, are kind of used to the warm weather, since extremely high summer temperatures, sometimes even record-breaking, are not an uncommon sight for this part of Europe (Balkan peninsula). It's much tougher to deal with crap weather once the summer temps are over... but luckily, or should I say hopefully, it's way too early to think about that!

Yeah, we're lucky not to have the humidity that high...
Otherwise 105F (40C) could be considered highly hazardous without an ample supply of your favorite drink...
