Nice job, looks like you'll have qute a bit of fruit. Is this by chance the same plant that is called the blood clementine?

Possible, Laaz, so UCR and CCPP would have to meet patent requirements before producing budwood for us. Not insurmountable. Perhaps Sanguinello can help to investigate further for us. Good point, though.

That looks like a vigorous grower! Nice plant!

How did you buy from Tintori? That's still a bit confusing to me...

I think, that Amoa 8 (Arancio Moro x Avana), blood clementine and plant called Sanguigno/Trabut in France, is the very same cultivar.
But it is only my personal opinion.
I will have Sanguigno/Trabut in my collection next year, so I can compare then.

There is also new cultivar called MANDARED in Italy, which is triploid hybrid (clementine di "Nules" (2x) x arancio Tarocco (4x).)
which has red pulp and orange skin.

Very nice, Rad, your tree looks so lush and healthy. I would love seeds from this tree, and both, would I ever like to get my hands on that Mandared. Two great cultivars used in that cross.

to Marc >
Order from Tintori is not that easy like Sanguinello describe it. Wink
Oscar Tintori nursery is not selling online ! I am in contact with them. I bought some plants directly in nursery and some via florealia.com which is online seller for Tintori. I do not know actual situation, BUT Exclamation this page used to not work properly, so I used to contact administrator of that webpage (Davide Tadeuci) directly, to place an order.

to hoosierquilt >
Seeds will be no problem, if I have ripe fruits next year. Just remind me in the spring.
I want to go to Italy in the end of the year, or first months of the next year. Mandared is for sale in many nurseries in the south of Italy, I want to buy one.

That is another cool hybrid, but not the same !

It is a Clementine-Bloodorange Cross.
I know this one will be planted in the orchards of Sicily SOON, but I could not see any pic or detaillwd informations yet .

I also heard about the name TACLE or Blood Clementine .. maybe that is all same ...

In the pics I posted yesterday is a clementine hybrid with red skin which may be same too.

Patty, as you see Tracy Khan soon, you can show her about that hybrids.
All the Sicilian Resaerch staion publishes is patented either under the old name ISA and a number or now CRA and a number.
Nevertheless they do international Research and cooperation, so Riverside surely can get garanteed clean boodwood.

@Radoslav

I am sorry, that it was not so easy to order for you.

I just could order there, but Italians are somehow funny :
L´Italiano e mobile, ma piu il Vento .. Wink

I checked yesterday and even the homepage of floralia is down now ...

There are many new breedings and quite confusing for often you get a same name for complete different plants or just the number ...

The Red(Ruby) Clementine is not a hybrid, but has just red pigmentation outside like the red Lemon and Cedro.

The Florealia web site has been down for several weeks now. When it was still up I tried buying some plant on-line but that never worked. So I emailed them and this way also got in contact with mr. Davide Taddeucci. I haven't bought any because I found the shipping costs too high if one only wants 1 plant (€40 for 1 up to 4 plants).

To Sanguinello :
I hardly believe, that you was able to place an order at florealia.com, minimally since 2009 this page have not working properly.

TACLE (clementine "Monreal" x arancio Tarocco (4x)), is different variety.

To Marc:
Yes, postage is high for one plant, I used to order 4 or more at once.
If you want budwood from my collection - we can exchange in spring.

According to this article:
http://www.califcitrusspecialties.com/docs/Karp%20blood%20oranges%20Fruit%20Gardener%202007.pdf

"...Grech and his colleagues have retained an exclusive license for Mandared in the United States, and have assigned the rights to propagate the variety to Willits & Newcomb Nursery, which may have trees
available as soon as spring 2008. They may be marketed as Red Nules, added Mr. Grech..."

So, budwood of Mandared (R) is licensed in the USA under market name Red Nules.

Ahoj Radoslav !

As Marc said already :
Till some weeks floralia was working and I was about to order ...

Thanx for the link about TACLE.
What I wonder is, that it is always stated to have the pigmentation and taste of Tarocco and at all pics it has NO pigmentation then ...
I talked with nurseries, that sell it and they also told me, they never saw a pigmentation ...

Try sending an email to info@florealia.com, this should bring you in contact with Davide Taddeucci. He's very nice and responsive! Smile
