I know! Wink
I once tried that myself with one of my own bearss limes, but I didn't like the result. I think I added too much water...

And although I don't really like limes, it appears that my bearss lime tree is one of the easiest citrus plants to grow, especially considering the climate I live in. It grows vigorously and easily sets fruit. The fruits grow quite large and are extremely juicy!

Igor, very nice! And I like so much your squeezing wood tool Smile

Thanks Ivan! I've always preferred wooden stuff over steel or aluminum ones. If anything, it's much more healthier, imho. Smile

It can be found at pretty much every cash-and-carry store in our area, in the household goods section. They aren't expensive. Mine was 5 bucks or so. Perhaps because it wasn't made of genuine olive wood. Laughing

By the way, this is how it looked like this spring...

Yeah, that's it! Even a buck cheaper here and there, unless you get charged for the shipping. Laughing

Just a couple of pics as an update on ripening progress... We haven't had any frosts here, yet. Although my trees are doing great brought indoors. After all, I don't like having to worry. Very Happy

What is your best guess for this clementine? Mine is C. reticulata 'Caffin' judging only by its physical characteristics and the vigor of the tree.

Probably a C. sinensis 'Navelina'? Based on its ripening time, shape, color and size. There's a small navel at the bottom of the fruit.

Kumquats - C. japonica 'Nagami' (I'm pretty sure for these, unless proven otherwise Laughing) are ripening nicely. This is going to be the first crop, for this recently grafted tree.

Budwood is obtained through some kind of web-of-trust out here. So you may never know the exact variety until it fruits. Sometimes even the Genus is questionable... Laughing

Take care,
Igor

Hi Igor !

I think I see nipples at your "Nagami".

That would be Lemonquat, then ...

Those are the stamens which are still hanging attached to the fruit. Nonetheless, they should turn orange soon, so we'll see... Laughing

One of my orange trees (Navelina ISA 315) seems to be flourishing, while others are not. Which isn't really something I'm used to, during the winter season which has officially started. We've got hit by the first heavy snow storm just couple of days ago. Actually, all of my citrus trees rather stay dormant during these few months. Since they usually don't get such kind of treatment like Millet's do. I'm not saying they don't deserve it, though. Laughing I'm not quite sure what could be the reason, in my case. My best guess is perhaps drought stress, since my temperatures stay rather low, ranging anywhere from 40 to 50F. But who knows... Hopefully it won't affect flowering of this plant the next spring.

Sorry for the pics quality, they came straight from my cell phone.

They're delicious, probably one of my favorites... Very Happy

Best,
Igor

This is how my limes look like when left on the tree until they fully color/ripen up... I put it next to an ordinary store-bought interdonato lemon, on the first pic, just for size and color comparison.

Best,
Igor

I think they are Tavares limequat with the nipples, Nagami kumquat does not have a nipple

Tavares are even longer, I think it is a lemon-kumuat hybrid.
