Dormant oil. I have had it get on a couple of my container trees in the past. I wiped it all off with alcohol & then sprayed it twice a week for a month. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Those don't show much interest (yet) for my citrus but occasionally I see them there. I clean them by finger. Of all plants here they prefere wild blackberry. You made better photo than I did 2 years ago, difficult task
In my post "Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:46 pm Post subject: Good Bugs - Bad Bugs"
link
Sylvain identifies them as Cicadelles (Metcalfa pruinosa).

@Laaz - Thanks Laaz!
@ivica - Yes, it seems you're right... They're almost everywhere in my backyard, usually found on reverse side of the leaves, mostly new flush... The trees are rather big and I just can't manage the issue just by rubbing them with fingers.
Thanks for the links, Ivica! |

Ivica, in your god/bad list the "unknown" is Clytra laeviuscula.
It might be in the "bad" side because they eat the buds and the very young leaves. |

Hmm... Squeeze them & see if you get a orange / brown goo that comes out of them. This is what I have encountered in the past.

Could also be Mealybugs, as they get that white fuzzy crap on them as well. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Thank you guys. Those are definitely "Metcalfa pruinosa", nothing comes out if squeezed and/or rubbed. |

The things have been going on rapidly for all my plants, lately. All my citrus is currently growing like crazy. And I'll most likely have to buy new pair of shears, since the old ones got already worn out (from overuse).
26th of June.
Today, five days later - Nagami kumquat has got its first flower open. Meiwa will certainly do the same in just a couple of days.
Best,
Igor |

Thanks to both of you!
My citrus trees are obviously loving that slightly acidic medium (along with the irrigation water). They can easily soak up the applied nutrients in such environment, hence the dark green foliage. Although I have couple of trees (which I do not showcase ) with chlorotic symptoms. I got them as such from our (rather reckless) neighbors who got fed up from growing citrus.
