Maybe it comes from the light or from the camera, but I don't see any sour orange as rootstock.
Sour orange is much darker.
I am pretty sure that the lunario an the key lime are on macrophylla, salmon pink and rough. |

it is the camera flash on a cloudy day which makes all the rootstocks look kind of washed out... however it's hard to tell just by looking the bark.
i'm pretty sure that all of the trees except navel and sanguinello are grafted onto citrus aurantium. |

I take it you don't have leafminers in your area. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting...
No, we don't have leafminers around here... Major concern here could be one of the following: scales, whiteflies, spider mites.
However, from personal experience, I might say that all of them can be quite easily kept under control.

@buddinman - Thanks. I'm doing my best!
I just cannot identify this crawler... This is not a whitefly larvae, isn't it? They're obviously not a rarity as I've seen them before, but they've never been a threat for my citrus trees. It seems these little crawlers are taking over almost every single tree in my backyard. Infestation is getting severe, should i use mineral oil based 1% solution, or go for something else? I'm afraid of potentially blocking the breathing pores, cells on the leaves. I'm not a big fan of applying mineral oil based solutions at vegetation time. From other people's experience, I've heard that solutions such as white oil may eventually thoroughly bare the tree if applied at vegetation time. I don't want to do any damage to the fruit bearing trees, neither I want those crawlers do a number on their own.
Here are the pics.
Thanks in advance for your follow-ups,
Igor |

Laaz, thanks for fast id... What's your opinion on using mineral oil based solutions this time of the year? Do you have any advice on getting rid of this particular type of scale?
EDIT: I checked google images, and this type of infestation does not exactly look like cottony scale, however it resembles a lot. Maybe it's not clearly evident by looking the pics, I couldn't get better shots. I'm limited by my digital camera focal length. |
