@Sanguinello - Thanks! This lime tree is from Pescia, Italy.
@Laaz - Do they turn orange when ripe? Because these are almost all orange by now. Besides, they don't have nipples, those are hanging stamens, as I mentioned earlier. |

They turn yellow when ripe, but look exactly like yours.
And from agrumes-passion
Either way, Nagami does not have the hanging stamens (nipple). _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Maybe it's hard to notice from the picture, but my whatsoeverquat don't have that kind of protrusion at the lower end of the fruit... Tavares limequats ought to be sour, don't they? I might wanna try one of these before fully ripe, in order to solve the mystery. |

Here are few more pics. I needed couple of fresh citrus for my Christmas decoration. So there you have it.
Clementines were delicious just like the rest of the home grown citrus... The summer behind us, was exceptionally hot for our area. Officially, we had more than 90 days with temperatures of 85F (30C) and above. Which seemingly, was more than enough for all the sweet varieties to build up their sweetness. On the other hand, there is a perfect balance between acids and overall sugar content, generally extremely delicious. However, kumquats, IMO, should have stayed on the tree a little longer, maybe a week or so. Lemons are about halfway to ripening, hopefully they will ripen up in the next couple of weeks, too.
@Laaz - By the way, yet another mystery seems to be solved. It's definitely a kumquat (most likely Nagami) and not tavares or any other limequat. Judging primarily by its taste which was distinctive, kumquat like - tart flesh with a sweet rind.
Best,
Igor |

Interesting, I have never seen a Nagami retain the stamens or be yellow like that.

Thanks to both of you guys!
Laaz, take a closer look to the 3rd picture from the top, it's almost as orange as an orange. They're almost identical (by appearance) to the ones you posted in your last post. |

This photo was taken more than a month ago (November 21st, 2012). So maybe that explains, why they're so pale... |

A couple of dozen P. trifoliata seedlings... waiting for the bark to start slipping to officially start the 2013 grafting season...

I don't know at the moment... Gotta make some sort of grafting wishlist soon, and then a good, reliable budwood source for the varieties I don't already have. I have a couple of requests pending, though. I usually do it for a small circle of friends and acquaintances. Eventually I'll have to give out most of the plants I grafted, since, despite my wishes, I indeed have a limited space for their overwintering. |

do you have some plans to buy some real estate at the adriatic coast to grow citrus, maybe in the future? there are many people from Vojvodina who have land on the island of Šolta. Many of them bought the land in the 80-ties. _________________ i am in love with lemon |
