Bummer... now that the striped meyer lemon hybrid finally is available, winter kicks in. Not a good moment for mail ordering citrus I guess... Rolling Eyes

I'll order a plant anyway, just to make sure I get my hands on it. If necessary the nursery can always delay the delivery...

Judging by my own experience, I think that Tintori has no problem to arrange the delivery time as you wish. Last time I ordered from them, I asked them to wait with delivery until there will be no risk of frosty days. So they sent plants in the spring.

Did you pay in advance or when the time was right for shipping?

I think, that You have to be quick to place an order, if you wish to order it in december - soon they will close the nursery for 2013.
Yes, I placed an order in 7th. january, money sent 8th january via bank to bank transfer and arranged the delivery for plants for 18th. march.

Tintori just mailed me back that transport shouldn't be a problem as the plant is protected inside the box. I guess it should be ok then...

Price is rather steep though... €45 for the plant itself and €29 for shipping... Shocked Oh well... it is the 'holy grail' of ornamental citrus! Laughing

Yes, it is better to order in 20 cm pot = 25 eur and 3 plants in one order - same postage as for one plant. But yes, if there is only plant in 22 cm pot for sale and it is "a must".
About the weather protection - I can advise you to check 10 days forecast for Italy and Austria. If there will be max. frost - 5C, it can survive the transit. I do not know if the postal vans are temperated.

Yes, if it fits in the same box the price for shipping is (nearly) the same. If you buy from Tintori it's better to buy multiple plants at once.

I think Tintori must have had several orders for the striped hybrid by now, also from people of the French forums. I should ask for a refund! Laughing
