Laaz, you get lots of heat/humidity there. Doesn't your central AC draw out humidity? Doesn't anyone think there's something wrong with inside here being more humid than outside with AC on?
And yes, you do have a very nice house! (and family) Laughing
Gotta wait till Mon to call.

Patty yes the central air does draw out the humidity. If yours is keeping the house more humid than outside you need to have someone look at it.

I was raised in a home without AC in SE South Caroliana. Without Air Conditioning, I can assure you that there would be no population explosion in this part of the country! In fact, if AC was suddenly taken away, there would be a mass exodus from the region.

Weather is just crazy here. I see all these ppl posting that are in traditionally warm places and find it funny. 104 110.... well, up here yesterday... 115 with 6%+ humidity. and I find it more funny when tourists come up expecting to see snow even in the summer! heh. Canada can get just a tad hot. Scarey thing, today is suposed to get even HOTTER. Just way way wrong. Even in this extreme heat my trees are going WILD, they LOVE it! Even 4 new trees I got yesterday that spent the last 2-3 days in a box. just soaked em in water for a bit then got them planted up and right out in the sun. no leaf loss or wilt from the trip... so pretty excited by that

Betty, I don't know ANYONE who goes to Canada in summer & expects snow!!!! You are in a warmer climate than I am-- prolly zone 6. Valencia just posted (further up) that it is very hot in Ontario -- prolly zone 3- 4.
Who are all these ppl that are in "traditonally warm places" that you are laughing at?.... me? I'm in zone 5!!! You only had 6% humidity (LOL). 60% humidity is about average here.
I had the AC guy here today. He said it should not be more humid inside. He lowered the cfm from 1100 to 800. Said the air was going too fast & not able to draw humidity out well. No charge, & he even gave me a free filter, normally $30.00!!! How COOL

I meant to type 60% humidity. not 6. typo Smile well, we got to 116 today. It was already 100 degrees by 8am! We're hitting records everywhicxh way here in BC. I cant remember a summer EVER being this hot. THankfully we aren't suffereing the normal ammount of forrest fires yet because of it. we're almost scared to get rain... rain brings lighting... lightnigh... fires. ugh.

Its really crazy how some americans picture canada (and I am from a VERY large american family,,, minnesota, parents moved up prior to my being born) and when we visit the family, they just don get that canada gets hot... not to mention that they get hotter than we do and have incredibly harsh winters and are right on the canadian border

We've gone down to spokane (3 hous south) and had ppl ask where we parked our snowmobiles... AND were serious. Its really crazy. the american tourists can be pretty funny up here, not always getting the size of canada... ask how long it'd take to walk from one side to the other... uhm... well canada is bigger than the states, you figure it out. It can be funny, but gets old at times too. hard to tell when someone is being serious cause its just too 'out there' for someone that lives just a few hours away to think we still live in igloos year round

Only suposed to be 110 tomorrow... ugh. when will this heat end?????????????????????

humidity on weather chanel when I was visiting mom was I think around 70%.. Thought about standin under the AC for a shower.. LOL
the temps are below 100 as the high now.. OMG the weather guy got it right!!!????!!!!??? Shocked
Won't be long and I'll be complaining about the 10*F temps.. Laughing

LOL Gina...you are so right! I can take a lot of heat, but humidity--YUK.
When I go outside & just stand still & pour sweat, that's bad for me.
We are having a big heat wave all over the country. Those poor people in Ca. with all the power out. I wonder if JoeReal is one of them. Haven't seen him post today.
At least it cooled off to upper 80's-low90's. S'posed to rain this am & the next 4 nights! I just FERTILIZED all plants --hope the rain doesn't wash it all away (?) The rain will cool things down but I'm sure humidity will go way up. Stay COOL girlfriend!

Heard on news tonight that several people in many states died from the heat --esp. in "traditionally warm" California. Never mentioned any severe heat in our northwest...near B.C.

And, as of today even though it was hot, we stayed under 100 for the most part. clouds are coming in Plus, how often do those in the states hear about weather in Canada?

"I see all these ppl posting that are in traditionally warm places and find it funny. 104 110...."
Over 100* is HOT & there is a heat wave going on all across this country & Canada.
I know ppl in BC & they grow palms & bananas inground! It's a warmer climate than here -z5, & yet temps here were over 100 with high humidity. Doesn't matter if you live here or Ca--- it's HOT. And, who am I to laugh at them cuz they should be used to it ???? 104* is hotter for me here in z5?? Wrong. It's one of worst heat waves..ppl are dying.

More than 40 people died in Ca heat wave, mostly elderly. More than 500 cows have died too and emergency landfill burial of dead animals was approved, just watched the news a while ago. We had already broken previous record of more than 9 consecutive days over 100. It is going to be the 11th day straight tomorrow.

Next week will be in the upper 80's. What a relief at last, and will be contacting you for budwood shipment for those who have emailed me earlier.

I AM american, my entire family is in the states. I see what they, their friends and ppl in areas I have been say. It was NOT a gerneral comment that ALL americans think that. its MY experiences that I run into a lot that do. as for saying how hot it is here, was just compairng that even in an area as north as we are... are also going through extreme heat.

and believe me very few areas of BC are warm enough to grow things like palms and bananas in ground. pretty much just the vancouver and vancouver island area... bc is just a tad bigger than that.

I am SOOO thankful for the company that my husband works for.. when the heat wave hit they moved hours worked up.. Meaning that my husband is getting up to be to work at 4 am.. Very few of the companies in the area did so.. Unfortunately I've recently heard that there was one death here in town.. a guy turned off his forklift stepped off and died of heat stroke.. Hubby told me of several other ppl that were hospitalized for heat stroke or other heat related problems last week..
I am sooo thankful that my hubby was able to get off work at noon (no lunch break) and avoid the worse heat of the day.. I feel sorry for the families of those that work for companies that don't.. even though hubby gets off earlier it sure takes it out of him.. They are having plant shutdown next week.. so he will be able to stay home and recoup a bit..
Those of you live near large bodies of water.. BUY A COBALT BOAT!!! they treat there employees pretty well!!! www.cobaltboats.com Very Happy
Hubby got to go on a lake test and even drive a boat.. he was on cloud nine for a few days because of it.. he said it was a great break in a hot day..
Stay cool!! (having high school flash back here.. Isn't that what I signed in your year book? LOL)
