that's right Gina. We need to drink water a lot. Yesterday it was hot and very humid, was perspiring as we harvested the Shiro plums.

It was heat index 105 here also, yest & esp today...too hot for me. I had to paint ceiling & walls in sunroom Sat & yest (having friends over for lunch in few days) It was about 100* & humidity was 70%. Changed soaking wet clothes 2 times. Came inside to AC often & drank a TON of water. I couldn't pee all day ...it just got sweated out. _________________ Patty

OH man Patty your so lucky .. Hmmm
when i was a Construction Road Flagger i had to stand 8-14 hrs and not allowed to pee . unfortunatly it was winter and id drink Coffee to stay warm .
best Idea i had was to take a athletic Suporter and a Plastic fish tank hose and combind the 2... Talk about uncomphortable but yet to hold the potty would ruin my System ...
Its gonna be worse next weekend late 80's-90s here in Oregon on the coast so I worry about you all Tammy _________________ If it breaths and loves life Im a Friend..

My goodness Joe your high-lows are much cooler than us
down here in Merced and Fresno. The last few evenings
our low temps are still in the low 90's - high 80's even at
midnight.
How many Shiro Plums are you growing?

Shiro plum is one of the major branch of my 36-n-1 Euro-Asian plum tree. I've got close to 100 lbs of fruit from it harvested already, with about 25 lbs remaining. |

I hear the south pole is nice this time of year!!!!
My AC can't keep up.. is starting to get rather warm in the house..
Thankfully tonight it starts cooling down a bit.. and should be upper 80s as highs this week end..

Today is upper 70's but still very humid..we got lots of needed rain last 2 nights.
Central AC question to anyone that knows. Last Sun (ex), temps outside were 98* & humidity 58 -60%.
Inside temp was 78* & 68% humidity.
Shouldn't there be less humidity inside? I just got central AC Last year & didn't use it much then till recently. Seems there's something wrong here. I'm calling the AC place. _________________ Patty

Any kind of air mass, if you cool them down, that air mass humidity increases. If you cool the air mass down further, it will reach saturation (100% RH) equal to the wet bulb temperature of air, and condensation (aka dew) forms. |

The opposite works true. if you increase the air's RH, its temperature will lower. This is the principle of misters and evaporative cooling. |

Didn't call AC people yet but, they told me central ac will draw out the humidity much better than a window ac. Supposed to cool & dehumidify. My sister in Az. has a "swamp cooler" It cools the house down with mist, but is nothing like a AC & MUCH cheaper to run. _________________ Patty

I miss swamp coolers..
AC (window units at least) cool by condensating humidity from the room air.. the humidity condensates on the fins and as air runs past cooler air results.. the humidity is collected at the bottom of the unit and (hopefully if installed properly) runs out the back to out side.. if the unit is tipped to far forward the result is a WET MESS on the floor..
a mistake one makes only once!!
I don't know about central H&A.. I'll ask my brother next time I talk to him..
Temps aren't tooooo overly bad today!!! down right nice compared to earlier this week.. was cloudy all day though..

I have one large unit that sets outside, that is both the heater during the winter and then is also the air conditioner during the summer. Great unit. Although, AC is not a must here in Colorado (5,440 Ft at my home) it still is a nice extra. I've been to Laaz's house in N. Charlston, it is a nice very nice place. - Millet |
