Cool, what was you low temp so far? I still have a few Satsumas on my tree outside. I'm curious to see how long they hold on the tree before the fruit quality starts to go downhill.

The lowest my satsuma has seen this winter is ~37F (3C) and it's spent most of the time between 40 and 55F (~4-13C). I've been running the heater a bit to keep it above freezing in order to preserve the fruit, but I'm thinking of turning off the heat to see how the fruit handle colder temps near or slightly below freezing. Coldest the tree got last winter was ~28F (-2C) with no heat and an outside air temp of 3F (-16C). Even with the heat turned off for the rest of this winter, I doubt it'll be able to drop down below 30F inside the enclosure.

fruit should be plenty ripe by now?
one of my mistakes was not planting all early sats... the LA early is ripe before it gets frigid

I need to see if Stan has more

Frank, do you do anything with your trees to minimize them getting burned by the sun after being in near total darkness all winter? I also unprotected my small Thomasville, which was protected in near complete darkness, over the weekend. Right now I have it covered with a frost cloth.
