It has never been that easy for me. I guess our internet provider is throttled back. It takes about five minutes to complete the operation and three pics at a time is all I can do. Anymore and the connection will time out waiting to upload. I am supposed to have Hi-Speed internet. That is a joke. Sometimes it can take up to a minute for a page to load. It isn't my computer as I have noticed the same thing at work. I wish we had our own photo gallery here on this site. _________________ Charles in Pensacola

No greenhouse and growing them as bushes in zone 5.5? You are a citrus warrior!
Keep up the good work, it's great to see citrus grown against all the odds. |

From what I've read on here keeping them out of direct sunlight is what helps them survive the winter right?
I think I'll try your water barrel with 50W water heater method in my greenhouse and see if it works there. At the moment I have a 2kw fan heater in there that keeps things just above freezing, but it is so expensive to run. |

well I try to load the enclosers with water, as it holds heat and absorbs it during the day. even if there enclosers dont get light it warms up and the water absorbs some of the heat.....
lmk if u have any questions
I use to uncover it in the winter to get growth, but gave up as it isnt worth the hassle and risk of something blowing off
I now start giving it sun in late Feb........
FWIW I think thomasvilles are easiest grow and satusmas second....

The picture is a current picture of my satsuma grove.. It was taken in October. Most of the fruit has been harvested and sold but there are some still on the trees.. _________________ Y ORANGE U Growin Citrus

Stan, your satsuma grove has me green with envy. Well done.
Frank, I am full of admiration for your outdoor citrus. It gives me hope that I can grow some form of citrus outdoors if I can create the right micro-climate in my garden. |
