Very nice Igor! Do the flowers of your tahiti lime have any perfume? _________________ - Marc |

Igor, I don't think Bob had any bad or rude intentions when he posted that. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Igor, I know many things important and not so important, but there is one thing that I can promise you. It is that life is far too short and unpredictable. Enjoy the good moments, and overcome the bad ones.
People here fuss sometimes, but the cause brings us back together at the end of the day. _________________

igor, I apologize if you think my comment inappropriate. I am not familiar with many non English names. Anyway, since you feel my comment was inappropriate, I removed it from this thread. Again I apologize. Wish you and your trees the best. - Millet |

@Dave - You're right... Thanks for your support words!
@Millet - It's okay Bob, no hard feelings.
Now let's get back to the topic...
And a month old C. sinensis seedling - but this time Camellia sinensis...
I didn't want to open a new topic, just because a couple of photos.
Hopefully, I'll be drinking my own, homemade, green tea in 2-3 years... Until then, I'll stick with the store bought ones.
Best,
Igor |

Millet,
The name Igor is coming from the old Nordic Ingvarr, where Ing is the name of the God of Fertility, while Varr means stronghold, power. There is no feminine version for this name. _________________ Best regards,

Thanks for the notice, Ilya! Actually I do have some Nordic blood running through my vains...
I must say that even I didn't know all of the facts that you've just adduced... That's quite impressive.
Cheers,

My mandared is putting out some new shoots right beneath the pruned tips. I'm eager to see whether there will be any flowerbuds on the shoots. |

The shoots on my mandared are already a bit larger, but unfortunately I don't see any flower buds... _________________ - Marc |

@adriano - Kumquats for sure... They are so rewarding. Also, they have a very compact crown even with very little pruning.
@Marc - So pity we'll have to wait until next year for a larger crop... My tree arrived a month later, so it's just waking up now... Two of the flowerbuds are still growing. I'll post a couple of pics once they open. |

I'm already happy if I get a small crop!
The flowers of my mandared have turned into small fruitlets now. I'm not sure if they'll keep though... _________________ - Marc |

Yesterday, I topworked pummelo tree, which I have grown from seed.
It's quite a large and very vigorous tree, but has never bloomed before.
Two of its branches are now bark-grafted with some "Star Ruby" budwood, I obtained from our member Milto (Lemandarangequatelo).
I have also regrafted a couple of pummelo budsticks, in order not to lose its node count.
If the grafts take, I'll try to maintain both varieties on the same tree with some judicious pruning.
Here are the pics...
Best,
Igor |
