I started learning to graft last year. Currently I have a couple of Yuzu buds (which I grafted last August) that have just started to grow in the past week. It's taken around 10 months in total with these, but other things I've grafted this spring are already growing after around 1.5-2 months. If the bud eyes are still green, I wouldn't worry too much yet, just be patient.

You want to leave them as they are until you get a decent flush.

For reference here's one of my limequat cleft grafts. It was grafted in early May (here in Massachusetts) and it started to flush around 1.5 to 2 weeks ago. Two of the four cleft grafts on this FD rootstock look about like this, the other two are only just possibly starting to show signs of growth. I am not planning on doing anything until the flush is mature enough to not break when removing the Parafilm.

Be patient.

swimmingfree,

even down here, I rarely see that clefts start flushing in less than three weeks. Be patient. Very Happy Regarding "bandages", I usually keep them for at least 4 weeks.

Good luck!

I'd suggest bark graft, t budding or chip budding. I have had very little success with cleft graft. I've budded a couple hundred with almost all takes.

Interesting story here Shocked :

Also, I believe that Four Winds sells Nordmann Seedless

Nice but sour. I am growing Nordman. I like the seedless part and intend to make marmalade with them. This one will go in the ground shortly. It is on flying dragon.

Look closely and you can see it is covered with blooms. Kumquat blooms late. Sorry but I can't send budwood.
