Hi Patty, So sorry to hear that you were robbed but at the same time, Im so happy they caught the "low lifes" that took your purse. I know somewhat as to how you feel. I had a 57 Chevy stolen from my front yard while I was sleeping. I later found out that the guy who stole it was a serial killer that had a thing for 57 Chevys! IF I had woke up and caught him stealing my car, I possibly could have been #19 or however many folks he killed. Cops finally caught him and he was sentenced to the Electric Chair. He paid the supreme sacrifice a few years ago and in my opinion, the World is a better place with him gone. Hope your burglars get the max punishment cause I know it will be a long time before you can sleep sound again. One last thought, I agree with Ned, A pellet gun will only get you hurt... get something that will do some damage when you pull the trigger. We had a burglar killed by a home owner in our area just a week or so ago.. Justice in its truest form!

One out of 5 houses in our neighborhood gets burglarized, mostly by teenagers with nothing else to do but spend time with drugs. I also had the windshield of my car smashed when I was too lazy to park it inside our three car garage. So I installed fake cameras, have an alarm system, one real camera (for monitoring the fruit eating birds primarily, also one grandma who can't resist picking off fruits from my potted nectarines), lately installed motion activated floodlights, have two dogs which will tickle you to death with kisses, was hoping to take a glimpse of any burglar, but fortunately nothing so far. It was last year that they caught one burglar to be a previous teenage hired worker of one of our neighbors, that reduced the number of incidents. Now our streets occassionally get a few teenagers here and there vandalizing trees, cars and garage, but significantly reduced.

Tammy, I have a front, side & back door & each has a 1" deadbolt PLUS a doorknob lock. That night, I forgot to lock the back sunroom door...was so tired. What are these alarms are you're talking about?...alarm that will go off when a door is opened sounds good to me! I broke up w/ Tom in March...no, he would never do a thing like this. He goes to work very early. He's mean & drinks too much, but would never do this. PM me about those "door alarms" OK? Thanks (I PM'd you)
Ned & Stan, you are so right. It could have been so much worse. Every hour that goes by since yest. a.m., I think what coulda happened. I could be dead meat now! (Hey Stan, glad we slept thru it LOL) I coulda been tied up, beaten, raped (ughh), more stolen -who knows. They only took my purse but, I feel worse than when I got burgled many yrs ago. They were KIDS, climbed in a window, stole junk jewelry & my CLASS RING (grrr) & left 2 gold bracelets. Took tools, mine & my son's bicycles, TV, & just plain went thru stuff. But the thought of them comeing in when I was sleeping & taking my purse pisses the hell outa me!. How long were they out there watching? Did they watch me go to bedroom from 'puter rm? Did they try that door before? Why did they stop HERE? - they were driving, not walking. Why me?
I know a pellet gun was not a good choice...like Stan says, you have to shoot to kill - not hurt them.
Gina, I don't know if these are the people who robbed me...will know more tomorrow. They only found 6 ind. checks on the girl. Maybe someone gave them to her(?) Hopefully, they'll get her to confess or say where she got them. They did not find any keys YET, fitting my description. I believe it's MKE cops job to go there & interrogate to get answers. I don't know how well they'll do or if they even care enough. I will push to get prints lifted , if I have to go to a Lieutenant or higher. Don't know if they are the ones, but they sure know who it was!
Thanks again y'all. So far I got my car back with new keys. If they try to get in my car, key will fit door but alarm will go off when opened, & it won't start engine. My good neighbors are watching out for me!
Ned, I saw Laaz's dogs too. I'd be afraid to ring his doorbell if they were out! 12 yrs I had my dog, no problems.

Joe, you are a hoot LOL. We had the same problems here but we got together & ganged up on'em. You are prolly the reason the crime is slowing down. Teenagers grow up & move away--MOST times.

OK patty these are just when the door is opened they sound Off.
i sometimes get so tired comming home i get up at 3 am to make sure i locked the doors with these i dont worry as much since once the door gets opened they go bazurk..

Im thinking about getting a Big can of Mase .. its the size of a large Hair spray bottle and has a Dye in it as my little carry around .. so if someone or something Nails me or my house and i get the chance .They cannot wash it off.. its just an extra Precaution but im going to buy one there like 35.00 but will be a good deal since my 38 and 45 where in the 500 range ..
if you look into a GUN make sure it fits your palm and is easily accessed with your pointer finger to the trigger as well as feels comfy to your hand and the weight wont hurt your wrist just in case you have a stand Off.. get to a shooting range and join a club.
I got lucky ive been shooting since age of 5 started with a pellet pistol then a 22 and then my 22 riffle. but when i look for a gun Hand grip weight and ease of trigger finger to locate trigger is what i go after first .
with out any of this your gun is worthless get comfortable with any gun you choose and yes Patty Keep it loaded .. Tell NO one you have it .
because if it is someone you know Guns are easy to sell..

Bad news is, the 2 they arrested were not the robbers. I talked to detective today & he finally came over to lift prints off doorknob...says it didn't look good but he took it in. He interrogated the girl for an hour & asked where she got my checks from, she said some black guy & she only knew his nickname. She stuck to that story & wouldn't give in. Whoever robbed me is still out there. There is a very good chance they will try it agian. I will make sure to have all doors locked. Worked on locks all day. Front, side & back all had dble keyed (means they need a key to get OUT) 1" bolts - use them when I'm not home - not good if I am & there is a fire! And, they all have keyed entry doorknobs. I changed cylinders & had new keys made & all is well.
Yes Tammy, I know a little about guns. My Dad was a big hunter & showed me guns & how to fire (shotguns). IF I get a gun, it will be a handgun - with permit - I practiced w/ one yrs ago.
Cops told me to make sure I don't shoot him in the back (yeah right) , & if I shoot him outside or he lands there, drag him in LOL!

ive practiced for yrs and have gotten pretty good with my guns ..
I have a collection ranging from pre ww1 - now my fav is the oldest gun i have it still has the bayonette ( spelling) the knife on the side that slips up .
and second is my Ak47 but for a burgalar it would be my 45 or 38.

start at the knees LOL but remember the guy that got shot and sued the family that he stold the gun from because it went off in there house and won ?

Last Sat. I called Wells Fargo to see if any checks from that account were posted, they said one posted last friday -$149.71, & was returned ( I stopped all pyments). Wouldn't give me any info on phone.
Looks like that amount was to a merchant who may have it on video! I went to bank on Mon. They said there was no photo copy of check - that it was just returned. Was so angry & frustrated...banker stayed on 'puter trying to find out more. FINALLY, she showed me a photo copy!! I went to withdraw my $99.00 & close that account. Took over an hour..but, if you want faster service, just yell "THE SERVICE HERE REALLY SUCKS" so all can hear!
Check was made out to Pick & Save..showed the store #, register# & time of day...10:30 pm. .. less than 6 hours before the couple were arrested. I told detective all. He went to jail & told her he has her on video & she will also be charged with fraud & accepting stolen property.
Here's her story now:
They went to drug house to buy drugs around 13th & Atkinson. Got the checks &my DL from a black guy there who got them from a white guy. She used my DL to cash check...we don't look alike at all! Her handwriting not even close to mine.
Turns out my original thoughts were correct...it was a friend of my son.
Cops & detective didn't believe me untill now. May 20th I had a party- mostly neighbors. I told my son NONE of his friends are welcome. So, he brought some guy he didn't see for over 10 yrs. The guy had the nerve to ask me for a beer! He never came in house but asked Eric for some food so Eric gave him a doggy bag of MY FOOD & they left.
Whoever came here targeted me...they just didn't walk by & get me at random. They drove here. How many times did he try that door before that one time I left it unlocked?
I had a light on in front living room. He knew it was routine.
He was familiar with the back sunroom (you can't see it from front).
If I woke up & saw him, his alibi would have been he was looking for Eric - who was living/sleeping in that room for awhile. He knows Eric is not here anymore.
That girl's story is true..I got a call from someone who found my keys in street near 13th & Atkinson. I forgot that 15 yrs ago I engraved my ph # on a brass tag. Detective went to get them & said it's right near the drughouse she described. So far purse hasn't been found.
Any suggestions on how to nail Eric's friend?

the Testomony she gave should be enough to nail him IN itself..
all involved should be arrested and tried .

First they find the Black guy then get his statement then they go after the white guy get his statement all go to jail No get out passes for good behavior.

also They should be scared she said Drug house OUCH bad choice . house will be watched YIPPY . you may have nailed more then one crimanal.

its kinda like a Chain letter Your gonna have to force the issue hun .

Thanks Darren, a few kind words mean so much in this frustrating time. Nothing anyone can do... so sweet of you though.
USBANK Fraud dept sent me papers today to sign on 3 charges that did go thru before the other 6 were stopped. I don't have to pay for them, but I sure wish they woulda sent them sooner. It shows they used it at Open Pantry Food mart INSIDE & they have cameras!!! Took me half of today to hunt down which one it was. The Manager won't be in till tommorow. Some stores reuse the videos after 24 hours, & some keep them for months. I am just PRAYING that this store still has that video from 7-11 & I will be able to identify Jason Rix & he'll be arressted, or at least see who used my card! If not, he'll be free. Fingerprints didn't come out good.
Tammy, they can't arrest someone they don't know & without proof. That girl won't give the name of guy she got my checks from---he could be anyone. And then, if we find that guy, he may deny it & will HE give the name of guy who gave them to him?!! It's not as easy as you think. My only hope now is to see the video, unless someone breaks down & gives names which may be unlikely. I will be soooo angry if they don't have that video.

first of all is the girl still in Jail ?

Go with that . have you spoken to the police ?
ask them what there doing to make her talk .
Talk to your Local DA.
and then find out everything you can about this girl .
1 you can drive her nuts just by watching her . Make her see you in different places her conscients will kick in .

Yes I talk to detective all the time. He interrogated her twice so far. Yes, I looked up her record...she has a long one. Yes, she's in jail for another charge of theft from same night...why they arrested her in first place! She was on probation. They found my checks on her (read back!). Please trust me ...I know what I'm doing here.
No, I will NOT stalk her & let her see me...she is a big druggy & NUTSO. That's the WORST thing I could do. She will be in jail for awhile anyway.
She didn't rob me, but knows the guy who knows the guy who did!!! OK! ?
Can't pin anyone yet, but I tell ya girlfriend, I'm so ANGRY now that my bank didn't send me info earlier. Got letter from bank yest. FINALLY, showing where where the first transacctions took place. Spent 4 hours yest finding where citgo store # 553 is! Today, I talked to Mngr. & he said they only keep tapes for 7 days & THEY VIDEOTAPE AT THE PUMPS!!! It is now 12 days later & tape is erased. I coulda identified the guy - JASON #### & his car. Sooooo frustrating....it's all gone. Seems my last hope was there. It's now up to detective to get more info from her & her druggy friends who will not squeel on each other. I had so much hope up.
I can't even file a restraining order on him..can't prove he violated me!
