Hi citrom,
Great job with the grafts! Did you follow the bark graft method from Joe? I was just going to post up and ask what method is recommended on young seedlings or young understocks. T-bud? I see most of the grafts done in this thread were done in February/March/April. Here at the end of May is it still an acceptable time to graft? I want to try my first attempt at citrus grafting, but not of the plants i have are that thick(at least not on any of the branches, the main trunk is). I have a lot more reading to do!

You can t-bud anytime the bark is slipping. Cleft & bark grafting can be done almost anytime. The way Joe has shown his barl graft, the bark would also have to be slipping. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Thanks to Joe Real and all of you on this forum for the information on bark grafting. I tried a couple of grafts on persimmon trees a few years ago with no success. After reading the tutorials several times I tried several bark grafts and some cleft grafts, a total of 14 and all budded out and all but one are growing great. The one that died after budding was a persimmon I grafted to a wild cherry, and I guess they are not compatible. The new grafts are growing great and I thank all of you.
I did try some t-budding, but have not been successful with those.
Thanks again |

Yeah, that's a neat example of bark grafting. It seems you've got a green thumb when it comes to grafting techniques. Keep it up! |
