New variegated orange Bonnie Childers sent me budwood of. He says it's a Texas sweet orange.

I'm still waiting for JoeReal to find me some more good California variegated varieties...

Fantastic collection

There is one point that surprises me much.The leaves of your citrus trees are like Ficus Benjamina plant's leaves.I mean it is like painted with brush strokes, light, dark together.

Check this photo to see a Benjamina;



It is the first time I see citrus trees like this and it is wonderful.
How do you make it?
Is it something related what Ned wrote, the lack of chlorophyll?
You wrote you keep them in shade, does it help?

Well, I was always conditioned to keep them in full sun, so it is surprising.

Hello MeyerLemon, Depending on where you are located there are different varieties of variegated citrus available. You can not "make it" they normally come from bud mutations, but can also come by chance seedlings...

Ah, I thought you did it in purpose controlling, light and/or chemicals etc.
So, say a flying dragon is not same in every location.

Your variegated citrus collection is truly fantastic! Today I took a couple of shots of the variegated Eureka Lemon -which you allready have- that the garden center that I work for on Saturdays is selling-

Great looking tree David. The Eureka has pink flesh, and is not very cold hardy. I have a variegated Lisbon in the ground here that is now as tall as my garage. The Lisbon does not have the pink flesh, but is much more vigorous than the Eureka and seems to take more cold.

Buddha's Hand is my favorite. I had no idea there was a variegated version! Where did you find this, Laaz??

I think this stem will survive only thanks to the reste of the plant. it looks very nice as the stem also is completely creamy-white

Gerdhart that is cool, but pretty common. I normally cut those branches off as they will drop their leaves & do not produce much energy for the tree.

Does a variegated Meyer exist? If yes is it common?
Because I have a in-ground Meyer that freezes to the ground every year and this year it is growing a variegated branch.
Is it worth to graft it?

Yes if it is truly a meyer. There was one once sold in TX, but is was a pink Eureka.

But it cannot be a true Meyer because it comes from seed and , if I remember well, Meyers are monoembryonic...

What ever it is, if it is variegated, then I like it !
