Notice how fast the cold air will move this weekend!
It is plunging south extremely fast unlike any cold front I have seen in at least 10 years! Now GFS could be wrong and I hope so!
Notice how fast the arctic air mass builds in Canada late this week and then plunges south this weekend. That is extremely impressive for February when it should be much warmer in Canada. |

Cancun could see temperatures in the upper 20s maybe.
There could be a blizzard over the Gulf of Mexico all the way to the south Mexico coast! I do not think this will happen the trough may not be deep enough, but would not be surprised if it did. |

Our low tonight and tomorrow night is supposed to be 20, with tomorrow's high at 39, and lows in the mid 20s for Thurs and Friday. I am soil banked, covered, and ready for it (i guess). |

My low tonight is probably 28F, 30F Wednesday night,29F Thursday night,29F Friday night. The highs each day 44F to 38F. It will be VERY windy though. Temperatures will warm over weekend before the next blast on February 8.
It is going to be a little uncomfortable working outside in these conditions especially overnight.
There was a cold blast around this time back in 1996. Anyone remember this one?
There is a lot of pink on the map from the link above. That pink means extreme cold with 850MB temperatures below -30C especially over Siberia and the polar vortex centered near Hudson Bay Canada.
I do not understand how people in Canada make it through weeks and weeks of these weather conditions. It is obvious why there are so few people living in northern Canada and Siberia. |

In the greenhouse, my two primary heaters, a 250,000 and a 200,000 BTU, will run much of the night, and most of tomorrow. The greenhouse also has two 100,000 BTU infra-red heaters that normally are used only in emergences, plus a 250 gallon heated water vat, (a used stainless steel dye vat) that is used primarily as a warm table for rooting, bottom heat for seed germination, and a warm table for delicate tropicals. This is realy great weather if your the propane salesman. - Millet (721-) |

It gets that cold in Arizona often? I thought cold temperatures were rare west of the Rockies.
Another great place to grow citrus is Sout West Arizona where mountains block the cold air.
I wish we had east west mountains north of here because this would prevent most freezes or block the coldest air. |

I didn't move my trees inside at all last year. I only remember 1 freeze warning. |

Yesterday Al Gore pronounced that the entirety of the 2010 - 2011 terrible deep freeze winter season has been caused by man made "global warming". I'm not kidding, believe it or not. he actually made such a pronouncement. In Colorado, yesterday or high temperature for the day was -1F, and the low -20F. Presently it is -11F. - Millet (712) |

The global warming extremists will never admit they are wrong. It is like a religion which assess blame to combustion of fossil fuels and not the sun or other drivers of climate. Global warming issue separated from science in the early 1990s and now it is pure propaganda |
