I believe I have read that the red lemon is in fact a cross between a citron and a blood orange, but I don't remember where I found that info...

As for the striped hybrid... no info yet...

I have a big limon rosso. They are so bad that you cannot eat the flesh or drink the juice. I am going to over graft it.
Or, as Millet use to say: on the top of the compost pile
I feel it is not the right sentence, but it looks like. Smile

Many thanks to Mr. Recupero (and Marc too), for his helping hand and willingness.

There's still an open question though...
According to the french forum, there's a 'clementina rubino' and a 'clementina rubino rosso'. I know the plant I already have is the 'clementina rubino' and I assume the 'clementina rubino rosso' is the AMOA8. Now what could the other variety be? Question

As I mentioned somewhere, that there are two varieties:

- so called "clementina Rubino Rosso", Sci-Fi name for Amoa 8 , which is not clementina Exclamation

- citrus clementina cv. Rubino, which is standard clementina like Oroval, Spinoso or Caffin and it got its name, because the rind can be slightly red when ripe.

part of the list of comercial clementinas:
SPINOSO (released in 1997 - Italy): Type: clementine. Parentage: C. clementina Comune bud mutation. Fruit size: Ø 6.0 cm, W 80-90 g. Shape: slightly oblate. Seed: seedless. Tree: medium vigour, spreading, upright growth habit. Season: mid Oct.-mid Nov. Note: susceptible to exocortis viroid.
RUBINO (released in 1994 - Italy): Type: clementine. Parentage: C. clementina Comune bud mutation. Fruit size: Ø 5.5-6.0 cm, W:70-80 g. Shape: slightly oblate. Seed: seedless. Tree: medium vigour, dropping. Season: early Jan.-mid Feb. Rootstocks: sour orange. Note: susceptibility to exocortis viroid.
MARISOL ( Spain): Type: clementine. Parentage. C. clementina Oroval bud mutation. Fruit size: Ø 6 cm, W 110-120 g. Seed: seedless. Tree: open habit. Season: mid Oct. - mid Nov.
ARRUFATINA:(released in 1985 - Spain): Type: clementine. Parentage: C. clementina Nules bud mutation. Fruit size: Ø larger than Nules. Seed: seedless. Tree: medium vigour. Season: mid Nov.
ESBAL (released in 1985 - Spain): Type: clementine. Parentage: C. clementina Fina bud mutation. Fruit size: Ø 5 cm. Seed: seedless. Tree: medium vigour. Season: late Nov.
HERNANDINA (released in 1985 - Spain): Type: clementine. Parentage: C. clementina Fina bud mutation. Ø 5 cm. Seed: seedless. Tree: medium vigour. Season: early Jan - mid Feb.....

There is speculation that it is really a very red Rangpur lime.

Mine is a "regular" rubino, but I have seen some anthocyanin coloration in the fruits. Rind was slightly red too...
Taste was great, but not clementine-like.

Yes, that's what I'm wishing for too. Nice exterior appearance like the Limon Rosso and the flavor of a Feminello.

Marc, I do not know what do you have, but this is regular clementine Rubino:

I do not think, that there is any red colour in regular Rubino pulp.

Definitely doesn't match my plant. Shape of the leaves doesn't match either...

hcoggan, the photo of the "red" lemon is actually photo-shopped. A joke for Laaz. - Millet
