I thought the Chinese chocolates are made by mixing plaster of paris with sweet choco powder mix, and then mix some peanut butter, and roll them until you form marble sized balls. Then feed to the critters who would love it, and die from hardened stomach. I just read it from some sites but never tried it.
You know that Don't click, this is spam from China are made by mixing blue dye and drywall material or plaster of paris, and so we have Chinese Don't click, this is spam. But we are not rodents are we? |

I will try your recipe Joe. I have all 3 ingredients except right now it is raining - not good for the dry plaster.
I'm angry -- my clem yuzu 3-3 10 degree seedlings were dug up today or last night. Thank God it is raining so the roots didn't dry up. They are in cups in a tray so they didn't knock them over...just dug some plants out & scattered the soil. Between that & a lime missing..GRRRRR
Could be the work of squirrel #53 in trap this a.m. I'm resetting it. _________________ Patty

Some swear by that recipe and it is better because it will be non-poisonous to the hawks or falcons or owls that happen to feast on dead or dying squirrels. If I find more exact formulation ratios I will post it here. |

I'm going to be sick
Someone told me to sell the coon & squirrels tails. No way, uh uh. Will not touch them! Squirrel tail is somehow used as good fishing lures. _________________ Patty

Where do you find this stuff LOL I coulda been rich by now - between coon & squirrel tails & meat!!!
I did eat a lot of those 52 different meats on that link, except for the more exotic animals.
My girlfriend had a game feast at her bar for all the hunters to prepare their hunting kills for all to taste (girls brought side dishes). Now that I'm remembering, I did eat squirrel! It was fillet'd in bite size - I didn't know what it was till after I ate it. I don't recall anything tasting bad. I ate Antelope, Moose, Buffalo, rabbit, deer/vennison, pheasant, Elk & don't remember what else that day. Yes, in one day!
I'm going to get sick again with the thought of eating squirrel!! Ooooh YUK. Laaz, it's your fault for making me remember that I ATE frickin SQUIRREL.
I wonder how much a lb. for the meat LOL. _________________ Patty

The worms or maggots are a delicacy in some parts of the world. Imagine, they need to feed them chocolate. Those Koreans must be lucky to obtain chocolates covered with live exotic proteins! Just another way to view it.
Fear factor food or what?
For me, the real fear are not the worms, but the melamine in the milk chocolate. The worms would likely be loaded with melamine also. |

Worms & maggots are not a delicacy in my part of the world!
I remember melamine dishware as a unbreakable tough plastic. It is "a resin used for molded products, adhesives, and surface coatings" (in my dictionary).
I don't remember seeing that as a ingredient in my hot chocolate. I like Swiss Miss hot choc. Is that in there? How can that pass USFDA????
Are you sure that is in chocolate here??? I'd rather eat maggots.
Right now, if I had a choice between chocolate & squirrel, I'll eat FRICKIN SQUIRREL!!!
Fear factor is 'right on' Joe. _________________ Patty

Sorry to chime in But Patty, you're cracking me up, and actually the Mepps Lure company used to buy squirrel tails for use on their inline spinner baits, quite effective on Northern Pike and Large and Small mouth Bass. |

And for me, I love to use the maggots. Great for catching trout and sunfish!
What we do is pick up roadkill (squirrels, possum, etc), then we tie it with jute rope and hang on the tree branch overhanging the stream, ie, the famous Putah Creek. Of course the road kill will have flies, then maggots, which falls regularly into the water and the trout will frequent that area. We come back the week after we set it up, then drift some mealworms under the area, and then bam! we usually get our limit of trout in short time, with often the biggest trout of the season!
I can't do that anymore, that favorite portion of the creek has been closed for public access. |

Thank you Buzzwinder for chiming in - don't be sorry!
I don't know where we were up north, but the place had all fishing info & a sign saying "WANTED: squirrel tails" to be used for fishing lure, so, I thank you for confirming this. We have a lot of pike & bass here in our lakes.
OK, this post could lead to a lot of things LOL.. bait, poison, trappings, meat etc.
Gonna set the trap again tonight in the rain (ugh) & see what I get in a.m. _________________ Patty
