It is not likely that this Citsuma is a chimera. Otherwise the fruits would not be edible. The Poncirus-parts would prevent you from doing so.
My Citsuma Prague in some years lost all leaves in autumn and did not in other years. This year it has kept its leaves.
@Radoslav
It is not said in Wikipedia that Mitschurin had something to do with citrus hybrids. A friend from Czechia just stated that it could possibly be a "product" of Mitschurin. |

All, what can I say, is that according to Mr.Broza, B. Voss obtain the budwood of so called "citsuma Prague" in greenhouse of Faculty of tropics and subtropics - (part of Czech University of Life Sciences Prague - formerly of Agriculture) during his visit in Czech Republic. Institute of Tropics and Subtropics is a workplace of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, which is specialized in agriculture and rural development in the tropics and subtropics.
As I mentioned above, one on my friends asked the stuff of that greenhouses about the origin of that plant, and they said, it was a part of some student work.
That is all I know. |

@Roberto:
Quote: | There is a rumour that Citsuma "Prague" is in fact a creation of Iwan Wladimirowitsch Mitschurin (have a look at Wikipedia). It seems to be true that this hybrid origins in the Soviet Union. | What was its given name at that time? Because it seems that the name "Prague Hybrid" was given by B. Voss. |

I do not want to go too deep to this problematic - finaly, I do not care how and where it was created. But how you can trace C. unshiu x Poncirus trifoliata hybrid online, If it was created in Prague Institut and they do not have list of their varieties online. And as I heard, they do not care much about this hybrid, because they think, that poncirus hybrids are good only as rootstock and member of the greenhouse staff call this plant useless weed.
I see different strange thing - why it is named nucellar seedling. I have to ask Mr. Broza after the Christmas. |

May be they had mature C. unshiu x Poncirus mother plant that produced this deviated nucellar seedling? _________________ Best regards,

this is strange, because if they said, that this plant is result of one student work - cross of unshiu and poncirus , so I expected, that it will be zygotic seedling from unshiu fruit pollinated by poncirus pollen. Speaking of nucellar seedling sounds like they got seeds, not plant and made a clon - but I think, there is another reason, better wait what Mr. Broza will say. |
