Gina, you have quite a collection. The coffee plant is one of the healthiest containerized coffee plants that I have seen in a long while. Are you growing the coffee as a shade plant as they do in Columbia or in the direct sun as the Brazilians do? I have grown Star Fruit trees from seed. Star Fruit seedlings generally grow to develop weak spindly trees, especially the trunks. When they are grown in the wind (fan) the resistance to the wind develops a strong sturdy tree. Wind is natures way of developing sturdiness in many types of plants. Your plants always look healthy. Your an inspiration.

Millet,
Thanks for the compliments!! I would not have half of what I have if it weren't for wonderful members in the forum!
The plastic box on the floor with the variety of plants is in front of a box fan set on low.. all of the leaves flicker ever so slightly.. I did this to help circulate the air in the room.. then I read your post about having a fan to help build a stronger trunk.. So I keep the fan on 24/7 and rotate what I keep in the box every other week.. I will be sure to put the star fruit in the rotation..
I keep the coffee in simi shade.. it is about 3ft from direct light and gets rotated with my other coffee plant in my bed room where they get no decent light.. it is a north room.. I do that about once a week.. I had three but donated the middle sized one to the local high school..
I think growing all the other stuff is easier than my citrus.. But I'm learning more and more all the time..
I even bought an apple and a peach tree for my yard!! I also snagged some budwood from other peach and apple varieties that they were offering so I will have more than one type on each tree Wink

Hey Gina, I grow coffee as well and I was wondering did your plants just naturally branch out or did you pinch them. Also in the summer do you move them into a shady spot or do they get full sun. I am happy to hear that you bought a peach tree, I have one as well. I planted it last summer and it is redhaven and this summer I am going to chip bud some more varieties that I am getting from program here in Canada and I am getting some apple budwood and rootstock too. Good luck with the peaches and apples and all the rest I really like those pics, in fact I really like it when every shares thier pics Very Happy

Gina
How long does it take the Avocado to get that size from a seed? I have been thinking of germinating one or two from store bought fruit.

Karpes,
I think I started the Avocado back in November. They are fairly easy to start.. i kept trying the glass of water method but the seeds kept breaking and once they broke they died.. but when I used the peat pellets they didn't break and no nasty water to change.. I could keep track of if they were growing or not by lifting the peat pellet and looking for roots.. when i saw roots I just potted them and soon it would send out a shoot.. after most were up I disposed of any that did not germinate.. I started about 16 and have bakers dozen now..

Laurens,
Those are truly tiny and little prince. both dwarf.. I did have a mahoi but for some reason it did not make it through the winter.. Crying or Very sad

Valenciaguy,
I did pinch the tips of the coffee when I wanted them to bush out a bit.. When I put them out last summer I put them on my front porch where they got about 2 hrs of direct early am sun but were in total shade of the porch the rest of the day..
I always wanted peach, apple, pear and others in my yard but hubby always objected.. I didn't take hubby with me when I picked up the trees.. Wink All he had to say was great now I'm going to have to clean up rotten fruit off the ground.. Confused Oh well.. he will change his tune when he is eating peach cobbler and apple pie.. Very Happy

I'll get some pics and post them of my little peach and apple and the citrus trees soon..

It sure was nice to see blue skys & no snow on ground! I have a ways to go before snow melts.
Joe, what kind of scion wood do you have? Can I still take you up on avocados? More citrus?
Gina, your plants look very healthy. I noticed new growth on the Bay Laughing
