Great pictures Laaz!
It doesn't look too crowded yet. I'd say you still have room for more
Of course, when those are all full size trees..now that'll be a challenge!
Do you have to protect any of them in winter? I'm sure the satsumas all do fine, but what about lemons, and pummelo, etc?
Your Sanbokan looks like its probably too small to be fruiting yet.
Have you tried any of the fruit? I'm curious if it really tastes like lemonade. Sanbokan is next on my list of citrus to get.
I'm looking forward to the next batch of pictures!

Hi Pelham. The inground plants do not get much protection. The only ones that do are the Key limes... I have a Hirado Butan Pumello I put in the ground next to my garage this spring. It is now about 8 ft tall & will deal with the winter on it's own. I think the Key lime is going to do the same as it is now over 9 ft tall & too much of a pain to try & cover.
The Sanbokan does fruit, I removed all the fruit to get it growing.
The Meyer lemon has been in the ground for two years now & hasn't had protection and is doing great... I planted a Harvey lemon this spring as well & we will see how that does along with a 8 Ft lisbon grown from seed.
I also have Navels, Red (Carar Cara) Navels, Duncan grapefruit, Ruby red grapefruit, about 15 varieties of mandarins Calomondins.... Hell I can't even remember what all I have in the ground. Then I have at least that much in pots... See what happens when you hang around Stan Mckenzie... |

Patty heres a crappy shot of the back deck 16 x 30. Lighting sucks in the back yard this time of day... Still have to re-sod...
Yes they are Ice cream pups I took from the plants out front. They are already over 9 ft high.

Awsome plants you got there Laaz.
And WOW to your ice cream. I've been looking for some sign of flowering to my bananas but none. Maybe next year. |

Thanks Bonnie. And thanks for all the great budwood you sent. I have so many Satsumas growing now, I'll be able to supply the local market in a few years... |

Todd, do you have enough warm weather in your area to ripen the banana? Bonnie is always very generous with his budwood. BTW Bonnie is flying up next weekend to put on a budding school for Citrus Joe and I. Bonnie is one of the best budders in the USA. - Millet |

That I can tell you is false. These Bananas would get hit by frost this past winter & the leaves would die back. A few days later they would have a new leaf pushing out the top... Believe me these will ripen without a problem. 90 days from bloom would put them around Halloween. We take the kids trick or treating in shorts... |
