Thanks Joan. I'm going there tomorrow & just might cut all the leaves back & hope for a new one to sprout. The stem is still green & strong so that gives me hope. _________________ Patty

I cut most leaves off & there's only 2-3 left hanging. Just yesterday a neighbor drove by asking what I'm going to do w/ it - as if it's DEAD. I told her it's not dead & to watch for a new leaf coming out of top... and ...VOILA! Just today there is a new leaf up 8 inches
I want to run around the neighborhood & yell "I told you so" LOL
Just 16 days after transplanting ...WAAHOOO _________________ Patty

We had low 80's yesterday & today and it's about time! The warmth is triggering it to grow again. Weren't we ever sick of those lows of 30's -40's huh??
If all goes well, I will send you at least 1 nana to taste. S'posedly the best tasting banana of all. We will move it to its final spot today or tomorrow w/ skid loader. YIPPEEE _________________ Patty

Hey Todd, just saw this. Moved the plant to its summer spot this week w/ Mikes skid loader. I decided to keep it in the pot (65gal) so it won't go thru transplant shock again. It looks pretty funny w/ only one leaf LOL...hoping it grows more leaves before it flowers. Pics:
Mike took the bucket off & put the forks on
Who's the bimbo in there??
The fabric pot would just be too floppy to handle. We leveled the board first which makes it easy to get forks under.
slowly backing out to move to just right of red arrow on grass.
All ONE of its leaves blowing (windy out) - still unfurling
Temps all next week will be highs in mid 60's & lows in 40's. I'm sure when & IF it ever warms up, it will take off.
Wishing that it has 6 more leaves & flower by end of June _________________ Patty

Thanks Joan. Right now my weather temp shows 48* & yours is 72*. I can't believe how cold, damp & cloudy & COLD it is here. None of my plants are doing anything! _________________ Patty

It's been very strange here too, just glad I haven't had to turn on the AC yet, anything to save a penny! The humidity has been very low here also, plants seem to be happy, still praying for that banana of yours. Sending warmth your way! _________________

I think I remember you, from a looooooong time ago. You might be the girl that broke her arm while gambling in NJ. If so I might stop by in a couple months to eat a banana. - Millet (995-) |

Want you to know that last Tuesday a flag leaf opened!!
This plant has to win an award for the loooooongest growing season for blooming LOL. I'l post pics of the flag later. |
Congratulations! You have certainly waited long enough! _________________ Skeet

Thanks Skeet. I have a pic posted at nana forum & everyone says it's a flag. I just now noticed a tiny hair growing out of the leaf - as if getting a new leaf, so I set a ladder up & it sure looks like another leaf coming up! The suspense is killing me LOL. Does the flower come out of the flag?
I just tied that string to it cuz it was starting to lean at the top.

Millet, you are welcome anytime!!
David, I was thinking of putting it on deck (behind window) but it won't fit thru the patio sliding door... and I'm afraid I'll hurt the stem laying it sideways to get it out door. We had frost few nights ago & could still get more thru mid-May. Still time to think about it. _________________ Patty
