I'm looking primarily for Kumquat or other kinds that are smaller than oranges. I would happily pay for shipping and your time.
I did have contact with a guy here in Sweden who could supply some budwood but he doesn't seem to check his e-mail very often or even at all.
At the moment I only have immature seedlings of Kaffir lime and Key lime (or maybe it's actually something else). |

Hi,
I was going to ask the same question, I am also willing to buy some budwood or grafted plants from EU area, I'm especially interested in mandarines and other sweet citruses, and also looking for a "real" lemon (some bright/pale yellow variety). Or, in fact, any other Citrus that I don't already have So if there's any European out there willing to send some budwood to Finland, too...
Spazze, in a couple of years I may be able to help you, because I already have some citrus plants that might meet your requirements. But I have just bought the plants this year, so they're not big enough for taking budwood just yet. I have also some other plants that are bought last year, but those are even smaller. Then I have older plants, but those are seedling plants not producing fruits.

I'm still looking for budwood. The temperature will stay above 0°C here a little while longer so I think it would be possible to send budwood via mail. Fukushu Kumquat would be my first choice.
Seeds for slow growing rootstock would be of interest too.
Jari, thank you for your offer. Have you found what you were looking for? |

Wow Laaz, that is some tree! It appears that they have many trees with a thick trunk. I was amazed to see the size of that beast compared to the container size! I couldn't imagine trying to bring that in for the winter. My husband would just laugh at me!

I heard (may be a rumour) how they do this in Spain, just dig off big old tree from fields, prune crown, put it in the big pot and wait for result. Some trees will survive and than they go for sale.

Why in spring ?
I think it is better to prune in summer - and to graft/bud too. |

I'm very grateful to Radoslav who just sent me some budwood!
If someone in Europe could send me poncirus seeds or any other suitable root stocks in the autumn I would be very grateful as well. I've ordered too many bad seeds on Ebay that didn't germinate.
Also, on the topic of very old trees that are sold, I recently saw some very old looking vine stocks for sale here in Sweden for 300. Very beautiful but I wouldn't buy them. The same store also had two tomato plants on a trellis in a big pot for 100. |

I hope I get fruits of my poncirus tree in autumn.
That old trees are worth any cent of their price !
They are often some hundred years old and I was the one who initiated that business ...
I could not bear seeing always them use beautiful old trees for firewood ... |

I think it's sad all those beautiful old trees are being dug up and put into large containers instead of leaving them in their location. They often do that with olive trees too. There's one such olive tree in my neighborhood. Such trees cost maybe 800 or even more. The tree didn't survive the winter... _________________ - Marc

MarcV, if I ever had such a wonderful tree, then I would do anything to protect them and let him grow for every where it is ...
BUT, the farmers there always cut them down.
My intention was to save them and make them go to someone who loves and takes care of them ... |
