Patty Had been talking about some BP problems but she was seeing a Dr and getting help for it... Tests, monitoring and meds.. that was a few weeks ago.. My guess is she didn't get her BP problems taken care of.. as it does not state on her FB page how she passed..

I am so sorry to hear this. Among other things, I really enjoyed following her ice cream banana saga.

I know I haven't been here in a LONG while but Patty really helped me along with my citrus and banana's she will be missed by many. I loved her stories of the quest for getting rid of critters in her yard and the Ice Cream Banana story was the best. God Bless you Patty, thanks for all you did for me and others

The first picture shown on this post is of Patty, me, Citrus Joe, and Laaz. I went to two different Citrus Expos with Patty. Citrus Joe, Lazz and I spent the entire weekend together during the Charleston Expo. Patty brought some of her homemade wine to share with us. We corresponded frequently. I am completely stunned, and weakened at this most dreadful news. God receive her soul. I cry for you, Good bye my friend Patty -- Good bye. - Millet

Wow, just heard about this on the banana forum. Patty was a fun friend to have and had a good time with her e-mail jokes, etc. I also grow pitaya and was delighted she was getting fruit from those this year. My last message from her was on 8/12 regarding pollination of dragon fruit so I don't think she ever got fruit ripened this year yet. It was also her first year to finally get fruit on her feijoa. I pray that she is now in heaven and that we can meet up again to share our adventures!

I'm in shock to hear this awful news. Patty was such a sweet and nice lady, and invited me to her house when I was going to be visiting Milwaukee, although we never managed to get together.
Such terrible news! My heart goes out to her family and fiance.

Very shocking and sad news. I remember when I first met her at the Expo and had been in touch with her ever since. I also had no idea of her being ill. It really was fun to hear about her banana, loquat, fig and various other adventures. She will be missed very much.

A banana friend of mine received the following message from Patty's mom and asked me to share it with the group here:

Quote:
Memorial for Patty was held Sunday at the home of her fiance, Mike. It was a beautiful celebration of her life. Her garden was more beautiful and lush this year than it has ever been, and the apple tree that she has three varieties grafted, is full of fruit. She will live on in her garden...I have many of her plants that she shared with me. I was fortunate enough to have a trip with her a few years ago to a Citrus Conference in Virginia Beach. Thank you to all who shared her love of nature, and who loved her gentle spirit. Her banana 'pup' will be cared for by Mike, I am sure, and it will probably surpass the last one. Keep her in your hearts and memories. She is not gone....just in another place.
Patty's foster mom

Sad news indeed, Patty was a kindred spirit with all who visit here, in her love for citrus and other tropical fruit.
