So sad. I haven't been on the forum much lately, but wish this news wasn't true. I had sent Patty a Winter Bannana Apple scion some time back and wonder if it is one of the branches of the apple tree that lives on that her mom mentions below. I never got to meet her in person, but I hope that she was saved and that I'll some day be able to meet her in heaven.

Her garden was more beautiful and lush this year than it has ever been, and the apple tree that she has three varieties grafted, is full of fruit. She will live on in her garden...I have many of her plants that she shared with me. I was fortunate enough to have a trip with her a few years ago to a Citrus Conference in Virginia Beach. Thank you to all who shared her love of nature, and who loved her gentle spirit. Her banana 'pup' will be cared for by Mike, I am sure, and it will probably surpass the last one. Keep her in your hearts and memories. She is not gone....just in another place.

This is very sad. She had helped me with many questions when I first started so many years ago. Strange how I felt the need to log back on here and then find this... _________________ I am amazed when anything grows in my yard! |

Just to day, I was invited to be friend a person on Facebook. I don't like Facebook so I almost never accept. However, in this case, although I did not accept the offer, I went to the persons Facebook page, and there was post from Patty (posted months ago) and it read "Hi Bob". Made me sad, as Laaz, Citrus Joe, and I, hung out with Patty at the Charleston Citrus Expo, and then I again hung out with her at the Virginia Beach Citrus Expo. She was a friend. - Millet (292 BO-) |

Wow, Its my first day on the forum and I've already read about Patty's banana saga. Sounds like she was a fun lady. I live so close, I wish I would have met her. This is really sad news. _________________ "A weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place" -Luther Burbank |
