Well it has been just over a year that I've been gone.

Well I'm back!!!!

We have moved to massachusetts, just had my fourth baby, adopted 2 puppies and we purchased our first home all within the last 6 months.

I am excited how many members there are now.

Huge Congrats Laaz, Joe and Millet. And Congrats to BabyBlue and Skeeter I see that you are now moderators.

Here's a shout-out HELLO to Ben, Patty, Westwood, Malcolm, Stressbaby and to everyone as well.

I am going to be posting a few posts on fruit trees that I can grow in my new zone.

All of my citrus trees (Cara Cara, Valencia and Ponkan) that I had in Florida I gave to my Mother ( she lives in Venice, FL) and they are doing great.

I hope everyone is well and I am looking forward to talking to you again.

Thank you for the much appreciated welcome.

Don't worry Cactus, I winked at you when I flew over.

Yup Joe, 4 kiddies now. 9, 8, 4 and newborn. Oh, and don't forget those wild little puppies. I must be out of my mind. BUT, I would not change a thing.

Yes, I do need to grow a container citrus. I will only be able to have one. So I'll have to make it a good one. Especially, since it will have to spent it's life in my dining room. Thankfully, my dining room used to be a garage and the door entrance is now extra large glass doors and the back side as well. Also there is a bay window, so pretty much it is a sun room.

I'll take any suggestions on that as well. You know me, it has to be sweet and juicy, MMMMMM.

I do miss the smell when driving the kids to school and smelling that wonder fragrance when all the trees are in bloom, 8 miles of deliciousness.

Actually I am right around the corner from an apple orchard. I'll see what that smells like when they are in bloom.

Welcome back and congratulations-- I hope you can adjust to that cold climate-- I lived in NC for 11 years and it wasn't the actual temps that got to me-- it was the legnth of the winter-- starting in Oct and it wasn't really over til almost May. I was use to Dec to Feb with a good chance of 70 degree days anytime during the winter.

As a Coloradoan I chuckle a little when I hear the words North Carolina and "winter" in the same sentence. Actually winter is my favorite season. - Millet

I had to live/survive through winter here and I did have a difficult time to the point that I had to not cry Crying or Very sad for fear that my face would freeze. I did have to tell my oldest son one day to stop crying for that fear, it was soooo bitter, bitter cold, and the wind was crazy. I am not looking forward to this winter at all. I enjoyed each and every day when I lived in FLORIDA, even when there were storms. My husband's job simply gave us an offer we could not refuse. If we did, then we would still be leasing a home instead of owning one.

Millet, I know it is a lot colder there in Colorado-- at least as far as the thermometer goes, but one important factor that they do not incorporate in the "wind chill" factor is humidity, and I can tell you that 30 F here in the winter feels colder than the 0 F cold spells I experienced in NC. Even still, it was the legnth of "winter" that bothered me most.

Spring is my favorite season here--50s at night 70s in the day followed by fall with much the same temps--though it seems we can have some 80s into Nov sometimes. "Winter" here is pretty nice most of the time and I even like it more than our summers--which is what would really get to you. Again, it is not as hot on the thermometer as you see in many areas much further north, but mid 90's in humidity makes it feel much worse than the 110-115 F that I experienced in Death Valley.

Disney, I feel for you girl! Maybe you can take a winter vacation to Florida and get a recharge.

Thanks BabyBlue.

Thankfully the one I just went through was mild so to speak and I am hoping for the same this winter. I did not have to go through and major storms and when one storm did hit I was stuck in the house anyways due to my c-section.

You know I was think of that, a multi citrus tree. Last I remember is that Joe was at 42 in 1.

So, Joe what's the current count?

Disneygirl- Welcome to Zone 6! Apple orchards are beautiful when in bloom and lots of fun in the fall to pick from. I am looking forward to sharing ideas on how to get citrus to thrive in the NE.

Hi Disney,
As for you question about Joe's tree-He is on vacation now so he does not get time to see all of the post--but last I remember he was up to 56,-- he could have more.

Well, WELCOME BACK Disneygirl!!
I often thought about you & wondered what happened that you didn't post for so long. Congrats on the new baby too.

AND, welcome to cold winters! Your kids will learn to enjoy & play in the snow.
Now you must start collecting container citrus.
Glad you're back Wink
