Are there any pigmented Mandarins? Someone has to have created a hybrid like this?

I have two different seedlings I got from a friend in California, one tagged Blood satsuma and the other tagged Scarlet mandarin. Not sure if they come true from seed or the parentage...

Cool, let me know if what you findings are.

Do any lemons or lime pigments? Seems to me it should be possible.

I have a blood clementine. The skin is light orange but the flesh is deeply red. The taste is good, like a mandarine, despite the small size of the fruit.

Hi, I've got a blood mandarin too. I received it as a mandarin Rosso, but I can't find any informations about this variety so I don't know is it really a mandarin Rosso, or not. Fruits are rather big, but skin isn't as thin as a common mandarin's skin. Skin is dark orange (sometimes red), flesh is deeply red. Seeds in my fruits weren't well developed and they didn't germinate. Other thing that I've observed is the fact that the new growths of my blood mandarin are never red-coloured, always green; and flower buds are always white.

Some photos:

Are there any growers that anyone knows of that offer any varieties of blood mandarins? I am having a hard time finding just about any information on them online and have not yet seen a grower that offers blood mandarin trees. Lazz, you have to let us all know how those two varieties pan out!

Is the Red Nules still being kept from the general public (aside from contract growing)?

John Panzarella has a good write-up on the Raspberry Tangor.

I have one tree each of John's, a Panzarella Giant Lemon and a Panzarella Giant Orange. The Panzarella Giant Lemon is a super vigorous tree.- Millet (1,261-)

I have the Raspberry Tangor. I had the Panzarella orange, but mine was awful seedy, so I grafted the rootstock to something else. I have never tasted the PG Lemon.

I was just recently reading about the raspberry tangor on Panzerella's website. I'd love to pick one up, but Panzerella does not ship outside of Texas. What are your thoughts on the raspberry tangor Ned? From the link on Panzerella's website I get the impression it is not much of an eat out of hand type fruit?

I went back to his site a few minutes ago and read his hyperlink explaining why he doesn't do mail orders and I did not realize that you couldn't order citrus trees from Texas if you don't live there. I know that is the deal with Florida and some counties in some states, but Texas as a whole was news to me. Kind of bums me out as that further limits the small number of mailorder citrus nurseries but I understand it is for a very important reason.

Aaron Dillon at Four Winds responded to my questions about the availability of any blood mandarins or the Red Nules and of course I have no good no news. Nothing about any new varieties available of blood mandarins and as for the Red Nules his direct quote was "The 'red nules' is a patented variety that unfortunately will never be available for backyard growing. The owners of this patent are keeping this variety under their strick control." Many of you already knew this news but I thought I'd share anyways. Patent laws...
