				| I don't think the strawberry tangor is sweet. I believe it's a high acid fruit. | |

Given the hybrid/genetic engineered parentage the chance that a seed (although I understand they have no seeds) would produce a plant are zero.

I too find the arrangement unethical given the public funding. I have no qualms about paying patent royalties as part of the cost of a tree for my yard. I love the blood oranges, and would like to try a blood mandarin.

Of course, the reality is these tight controls never last for long due to the realities of the world we live in. Still, it will prevent me from adding one to my 'orchard' for awhile. Grrr . . .

Lovely flesh though. Sometimes a little sweetener like Stevia or natural sugar can do wonders with the juice.

				| Wow I never saw that page on the citrus variety collection before! Would that be the same variety as the "Rubino Rosso" that is sold in Europe? _________________

				| As I said in reply of topic "Blood clementine" to member "jm" from Bordeaux, I think that name "Rubino Rosso" is only seller fiction. Clementine Rubino do not have red pulp.
I know only about 2 mandarins with red pulp in Europe, first one - is tangerine, or tangor sold in France under name Sanguigno (Trabut) and second one is hybrid AMOA 8 (Moro x Avana) from Italy. I saw pictures of first one (Trabut) and I have the second one from Italy. My bet is, that AMOA 8 and Trabut is the same variety with different names. It has thick peel, because it is hybrid with blood orange.

				| I do not know, all I know is that- it is in french "citrus collectors" collections. Also in Corsica INRA collection.
http://corsica.corse.inra.fr/sra/30100264.htm
In Italy: Oscar Tintoris company has grafted AMOA 8 hybrid for sale. | |

				| Marc, do you speak french?or only flamish?
If you speak french you can go on the french forum (agrume-passion) and ask for bud-wood.

				| Hi Sylvain,

Yes, I do speak some french, although not exactly fluent, but I'm already a member on Agrumes-Passion!
"Budwood" means "budding" and I've never done that before
I should join the "journée greffe" but it's so far from where I live...

Anyway, the italian site calls their red clementine "ruby red" and I have seen plants on sale here with the same variety name, so my guess is it's the same variety and I can buy it locally.

Whether it's the same variety as the red clementine I already have, that I don't know, but I don't think it is.

And how could I possibly convince my wife that I would like to buy yet another plant, while all my citrus space is already taken, and while I currently already have yet another plant (a nice citrus caviar!) on the way? _________________

				| I do have the DVD from Bachès, which explains grafting very clearly. I still need some practice though! _________________
