Karloy, very nice work! I like how you dug down and built the brick sides. Dose this help conserve heat in the winter? I am looking to do something similar and have been looking around at greenhouse about the same size. Again, very nice and the trees look good also! |

Karoly,
Great job! I also like your brick walls - they are made professionally.

RyanL,
Here the winters are very cold and the summers very hot.
The greenhouse is not so big, has just 81.8 square feet.
I dug down to 19.7 inch because:
1. To win some air space inside.
2. To keep the greenhouse cooler for summer and warmer for winter theoretically, no experience yet.
3. The walls are from used bricks(cheap) and the thermal storage is enough good.
GT,
No news for you, Im still waiting.
Thank you for all of you! |

Thanks a lot!
Danero,
I can't give you any information because I have finished the greenhouse last week.

Couple of days ago, I have bought a kumquat very cheap. It was cheap because has already some twigs dieback and doesnt look too healthy. First thing what I done is to check the roots. I wasnt surprised, lot of dead roots (root rot)!
The potting soil was horrible, looks like mud (no aeration), this was the original soil used by Italian nursery. I remove the soil from roots and repotting in a soil with good drainage and now waiting.
I bought it because lot of people complained about kumquat\aurantium dying in the fall\winter and I would like to see whats happen.

Allthough the canopy doesn't look ok , the tree instead is very healthy as I see.
Good luck with your tree , and we wait for any info on the greenhouse in the fall/winter time. |

Those are normal kumquat flower buds, and yes kumquats bloom mid June - July. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Thanks Laaz!
I was fascinated by the form of flower buds which are not the same(for me) like on the other citrus variety and I found it very interesting, like the leaves doesnt have citrus smell. |
