Lazz, I agree with you 100 percent. The Stimulus bill is a disgrace. Regretfully, it was signed on this black day here in Colorado. - Millet (1,432-) |

Laaz, I feel your pain but I don't see how all these republicans can complain too much when we went through 8 years of horror. Rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. The republicans motto in the whole thing is just wait it out while more and more people are loosing everything they own. When is the working person finally going to realize that everything that has helped them in any sort of way has come from a Democrat. Its no coincidence that everytime we have hardship in this country it has come in a time when a Republican was in office. If you don't belive me go back and look at graphs of job numbers, deficit, unemployment, etc when a republican was in office. |

I've heard the news late last night that for California infrastructure project, $1B brings in 276 new jobs. So the $800 B stimulus package will bring in 220,800 new jobs, and if you remove the pork, we will only have 138,000 new jobs.
Well, last January we lost 600,000 jobs. The stimulus package will only bring back a fourth of the job we lost in January 2009 alone. We need to overhaul Washington before our government sells our souls to China! |

morphinelover I'm neither Republican or Democrat. I really can't stand politicians period. They are all corrupt and in it for themselves and nobody else. I think it's time to clean out Washington and start all over...
You want to see the system change ? Take away all the politicians little perks. Take away their salary when they leave office. Let the people of this country decide when they deserve a raise & what it will be. Take away these outrageous retirements and let them live on SSI like the vast amount of Americans... I am just sick to death of watching this crap go on and on.
Every one of these bank CEO's should be on the street, why the hell do they still have their jobs ? They should be banned from ever working in a financial institution again... I just don't get it. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I agree 100% but we can't overlook the fact that 99.99% of these CEO's are registered Republicans that donate every year to the republican party and get there little perks for there cause. Also, why are all these people complaining about a bailout that is supposed to start jobs when we are spending a few BILLION A MONTH in Iraq that serves the average working person in america not one bit??????? I'll tell you exactly why we are in Iraq. We are there because all these Corporations like Blackwater and the other weapon contractors are making Billions of dollars making weapons to supply to the U.S. army. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a peace activist by no means but we can't keep these wars going on and still sustain the way we are living. My father served aboard the U.S. Saratoga during Viet Nam and my grandfather drove a Sherman tank and landed on Omaha beach during WWII and they both are active members in the Democratic party unlike how the Republicans like people to believe that only they serve in wars. We should be taking care of our own before we help other countries and that is ONLY going to come from Democrats holding office. |

Lazz, you should run for Congress, or the Senate, your right on. Than again, I don't think you would vote the way you would be commanded to vote by the bay area's #1 girl -- the nut case Pelosi, or her loony Harry Reid. I used be just a so-so Democrat until they became the party of death. - Millet (1,432-) |

Morphinelover-whats up ? Are you a yellow dog democrat? That means you would vote for a yellow dog before you would vote for a republican...Looks to me like democrats now think more like republicans used to and vice versa. There are poor leaders in both parties but lets not paint with too broad a paint brush. In Alabama the republicans think more like I do and the democrats seem to have lost touch with most normal people-but what a machine the democrats have ,90 plus % of the black vote. By the way the teachers in Alabama have more voters than any other labor union. What does your Morphinelover name mean ? I don't mean to get too personal.... _________________ Tom in central Alabama |

Yellow Dog it is Tom. Morphinelover is just a name, nothing more. I have very good friends that are Republican and that is fine but I think alot of people would be very surprised if they knew what they were voting for when they punch the Republican ticket. Just an example, I know lots of republicans that are drawing Social Security that would **** their pants (DELEATED BY ADMIN) when they find out the party they have been voting for fought tooth and nail to keep social security out of America. Same way with minimum wage, workers rights, labor unions, health care, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. The list goes on and on. To sum up the Republican party is to say it like this, anything that takes away the power of the people and gives it to the most wealthy is right up there alley. |

I am very confused because there are plenty of democrats that want all they can get from anybody. We are still better off than most other countries but we are going down the drain quickly. We definately deserve what we get but I don't like a lot of things going on right now. To blame the huge amounts of money to bail out Detroit for just one example would be impossible to blame on the republicans. I wish obama luck -he sure is going to need it . I think we will pull through but it is going to be a long haul and socialism is getting worse and worse. _________________ Tom in central Alabama |

Tom you sound like a man with some good sense. I agree with you on socialism. Under Mr. Obama, I'm afraid we are going to see much more of a shift towards solcialism. - Millet (1,432-) |

Would you have preferred that ALL the banks close like they did in 1933 and a depression lasting 10 years???? The banking system was close to collapse last fall. Blame all around, regulators, banks, Fannie and Freddie, idiots home owners who took out loans they couldn't re-pay on inflated real estate, lier loans comprising 60% of all home loans in 2006, the idiot government who raised the qualifying loan from $300,000 to $750,000 so the idiots in California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, the East Coast and Florida could pay ridiculously inflated prices for homes, idiots who cashed out their equity and foreclosed on, idiot Democrats who passed the Community Redevelopment Act forcing Banks to make home loans in run down neighborhoods, it goes on and on. I say send the idiots who got loans they couldn't repay and idiots who cashed out their inflated equity be put in debtors prison. The rest of the CEO crooks who ran Countrywide etc. into the ground and pocketed many millions have the money confiscated and put in prison as well. As usual the careful savers and borrowers have to bail out the idiots again. At least with the bank bailout there is a small chance the money will be re-payed at the money bought interest bearing preferred stock in the banks . With the current Democrat drunken sailor spending spree it will inflate the currency and make little to no dent on unemployment. FDR proved in the 30s with his drunken sailor spending spree, doesn't work, bloats government, only WWII ended the 1930s depression. The Republicans might have made some mistakes but wait til the Democrats get through with their even more inflated spending!!!! Social Security, another Esops fable. Raise taxes, give it to the elderly and anything in excess, spend instantly. The so called "Trust Fund" is full of worthless IOUs. The biggest laugh is that the last round some 10 or so years ago of SS tax increase would "save" the SS system. Every penny of the tax increase got spent on the usual government squandering the very second it was collected. Ha, I'll show them, no more paying social security for me in 9 months!! I'll be on the government dole(SS) in 2016. Keep up the paying all ye younger than me! |

Mr. Texas, you also sound like a man with good sense. I am totally against the Democrat's bail out "plan", however, I certainly agree with you concerning helping the banks. I'll put you in the same category as Lazz and Tom - men with good sense. - Millet (1,432-) |
