It is still a month or so before I'll start trying some satsumas, but I was wondering if anyone else in the northern hemisphere is already harvesting (other than from your everbearing trees), or near to it - perhaps some of you you with a mature Kishu?
Here in N. Florida, we've had some hints of the coming autumn, but the noon-day sun reminds you it is late summer. Still, my thoughts drift forwards to this harvest this fall and winter...
I enjoyed an excellent Lakeland limequatade this week, but of course, that isn't so unusual for this time of year.

I have a fair amount of citrus on the trees, especially the kumquats and key lime, but nothing ready to eat. Most of my trees are young so I expect better next year.

My Xie Shan are starting to color. I'll try one this weekend. Again this year they are larger than I think they should be but are firm and not puffy at all.

I tasted couple of split Navels... dry and tasteless, pretty much like Russia-bought China-born Honey pumello, according to my mom. Very Happy

Ponkan! Already!I don't get these until January, Lucky you! Mine are only tennis ball sized and dark green.

Miyagawa and seto are about all I have coming soon. Both are still dark green.

My Xie Shans are turning yellow. We tried one on October 1, it was a bit sour. Also, some Navels start changing color. Smile

I picked a Daisy today--it is still a little tart but sweet enough to eat and help cure my need for a citrus fix--it was just barely turning from green to yellow.
The amazing thing about this variety is it will still be good (even better in Feb.)

Tried a Xie Shan and found it to be juicy but not to sweet definitely not sour though. Maybe in two more weeks!

Been eating kishus about a week now, super good. I picked 2 Pages this week, they were completely colored with no seeds whatsoever. Last year, their first crop, they were full of seeds, anyone know whats going on with that? I thought a Page always had seeds, not that I'm complaining cause they tasted great.
