Merry Christmas to all, especially to our member Patty from Wisc. who received an engagement ring for Christmas. I want to wish a very happy 2,007th birthday to Jesus. We are getting a white Christmas here in Colorado, it has been snowing all day (our fifth snow storm of the year), with two more forecast to arrive, one on Thursday, and our 7th snow storm coming Saturday of this week. I will take all the snow that I can possibly and gratefully receive. Summer is always just 150 feet away in the greenhouse.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
Thank you Millet & Skeeter...yes, I'm engaged as of last Sat eve (22nd) to a guy who was a classmate that I haven't seen in over 38 (aaargh) years as of last March. Been dating since May & he is THE best thing that has happened to me in many years. This small town of Mayfield is thinking of putting this "love story" in their paper!
I must say, he caught me by surprise...the ring is beautiful & so is the band. Good things happen to those who wait!
I'm thinking a smaller wedding with a TON of people LOL. (To Millet)

His daughter (28yrs) just got married in Sept with over 400 ppl for a sit down dinner & it was big bucks. It's just been almost too commercial for weddings lately, & I don't want that. S*it, I'll make my own cake & supply my own wine LOL.
Thinking for Sept when his masonry business isn't so busy (but it will be), but yet not too cold out.
I been busy helping him & working on my basement remodeling. Doing wiring now & then plumbing. Hopefully ready for rent in May.
So sorry I havn't been here to post for so long but ....... been here to read once in awhile, & then get too tired to post.
I miss you all dearly....esp Millet, Laaz, Stan, Ned, Darren, Eyeckr, Gina, Joan, Skeeter, JoeReal, Garnetmoth & whoever I forget to post.
Hoping you all have a WONDERFUL Happy New Year as a followup to Jesus' Birthday.
Joe...Tonight, I just tasted wine I was ready to bottle 1 year ago but no time. It is Elderberry with some toasted oak chips, with about a cup of fresh wild grape juice. IT IS SOOOO MELLOW & good. I siphened a glass out of carboy & will replace the glass with steril sugar water. I MUST send you a bottle somehow/someway. I know you have a bottle for me...I saw my name on the label LOL. I think it was Calamondin. Wink
Citrus News?
My Citrus are doing fine. I have Meyer Lem big but still green, 2 ponderosas that are very small but turning yellow, a bunch of Honey Murcot riponing (though small), & limes that are still small & green but not falling off.
I took Millet's advice on...if it's cool - less than 54* soil temp, give less lite. So, I use much less lite & keep soil temps at about 50-55* & all is fine!!!!
Love & hugs to all of you.
Patty
We just had a record breaking snowfall for December. Every Wknd has had a blast. Hope all that without power has it on now. Lucky me!

Congratulations on finding your soul mate! What better Christmas present than to get engaged to a childhood sweetheart that knows how to do some serious "gem" hunting! LOL. I wish you both the best life has to offer and hopefully all the Citruholics gang will get the chance to meet this lucky guy at a Citrus Expo sometime in the future! Happy New Year!

Patty:
I am so glad you have found your Love.
I am sure you will be happy.
Yes, that would be a Cinderella story if I have seen one.
Good luck to both of you.
Thanks for all the help you gave me for years.
Wish you a happy new year from,

Benny and my family

Hello Petr, Your greenhouse grown citrus are beautiful! It is amazing to see so much snow pile up Shocked I wish I could have access to all of the satsuma varieties that you are raising. Here in Florida we are unable to purchase many varieties due to agricultural import restricitions.Hope you have a Happy New Year.

Petr, That is obviously a challanging climate for growing citrus, but very beautiful.

My Grandparents moved to the US from Czech Republic- Grandpa from Moravia and Grandma from Slovakia.
They had to have someone to sponsor them before they were allowed into the country, had to learn to speak English and get jobs.
Not like today. Mad but don't get me started!
I wish they would have taught me Czech language, but they wanted to be American and speak English. Even my mother can't speak it very well, and she didn't know English until she went to school. Then she taught my Grandparents.
(sorry, off topic!)
