I know that they should start turning yellow but how much is recommended.
Does anyone have any ripe ones now? _________________ Charles in Pensacola

I dug up my rather large in ground Meyer Lemon tree several months ago, and tossed it onto the compost pile.. Before I got rid of it, I picked them when the fruit was starting to turn yellow. The problem with Meyer Lemons, is they are not a good orange, nor are they a good lemon.- Millet |

In-ground Meyer lemons will get to the size of a navel orange. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I hope I didn't make a mistake with these (I have two).
Wow I know your space is precious but I thought these made the "Best Lemonade " in the world. I didn't want a good Orange or Lemon I wanted good Lemonade!
Didn't that rate it a spot or did it just get too big? _________________ Charles in Pensacola

They make great lemonade, as long as you harvest them at the right time. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

In my opinion real lemons make a much better, cleaner, crisper lemonade. Meyer lemons made a flat tasting aid. But each to their own. That is why they make Fords and Chevrolets. - Millet |

So true, Millet. My Meyer lemons make the very best lemonade I have ever tasted. Much better than my unidentified lemon (the really gigantic one with no seeds). I just love that tree. For me, regular lemons are so tart. My Meyer is nice and smooth. Plus, makes some pretty delicious limoncello! _________________ Patty S.

The lemons of my meyer tree have a very unpleasant scent in the peel. It's not like a lemon at all (but the juice isn't bad! ). I find it hard to believe they can make a good limoncello... _________________ - Marc

To me they taste like not-quite-ripe mandarin.
Meyer lemons do have a floral or perfumey scent that is pretty unique.
Last year I made a pretty good American persimmon / Meyer lemon freezer jam |

Patti,
I like the way you think and limoncello is definately on the to do list.

I have heard that before and that you can't use the zest in cooking.
If that is true I may have to plant a "true" lemon too.

I hope your Croation Summer is a lot shorter than mine and maybe I can pick mine earlier.
