With all due respect, I thought I can express my opinion publicly. I was just speaking as a Christian, not as an executor. My apologies if I've, unintentionally, upset you or anyone else.

I mourn the loss of dozens of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy... I'm sure that public execution wouldn't alleviate any of the pain of victim's' families. Let the God judge him, everything else would be just way too mild. |
The death penalty exists in the USA because we highly value human life, the life of the victims. Not executing murderers lowers the value of human life. |

As it turns out, the guy is a schizophrenic patient... At least, this is what was said on NBC. Therefore, he might be barely controlling his actions. Said that, I do not mean that he needs to be spanked with a noodle and released. He took lives and must be punished for the exact reason Mrtexas stated.
Just my two thoughts:
1. The psychiatrist practicing him. Is she responsible for 12 lives her patient took? Do you think she will be judged or her license will be taken? What is worse: "disclosing personal information" or to be responsible for 12 dead, 58 injured?
2. The guy was mentally challenged and evidently dangerous, yet was able to buy guns and amo... Is not something wrong with this picture?
Laaz, I hope I'm not going into politics again, just "imho": yes, people should have a freedom to obtain reasonable means to protect themselves. Should not we also have a freedom to be protected from incapable individuals running with guns?
Sorry if I offended anyone. |

Igor,
I was not offended. Everyone is entitled to their views. I was just presenting mine. I certainly support your right to your view and your right to try and change mine! I hope you feel the same. We're just chatting here. No hostilities attached, at least not from my end!
By the way I consider myself to be a Christian and as a Christian believe the Bible (King James version 1611) supports my views. I cetainly meant no offense as I disagreed with your view. No worries mate! _________________ Charles in Pensacola
