Believe it or not, here is some of the legislation awaiting our Governor's signature:
AB 2567 "Gay Day" in public schools with "suitable commemorative exercises" for kindergarten on up
AB 2747 Nurse-assisted suicide via total sedation, causing death by dehydration within 5 to 10 days
AB 3015 Forces foster parents to teach foster children about homosexual-bisexual-transsexual "rights"
SB 908 Requires children in public schools to be taught "global warming" as fact when it's a theory
SB 1322 Allows open communists who advocate government overthrow to be public school teachers
SB 1729 Requires nurses to be "trained" to support homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality

Hi Phillip!
I could tolerate 2747, they should be taught 908, 1322 doesn't bother me,
but regarding the rest, either I would move out of there, or somebody would be spittin out chicklets if they taught my boys that crap.
Hope it works out for you.......

Each and every bill listed, except 908 and 1322, are pure TRASH.... They show how low people's morals have fallen. 908 (if man made) and 1322, are make believe. If they "teach" those two, then they should also teach the other side of the question. Dauben, it's time to move out of Cal-foreign-ya, before your kids grow up. My advice is, keep your children as far away as you possibly can from the PUBLIC school system. - Millet |

The nice things about many of those bills is that it makes me feel better about the money my wife and I spend sending our son to a Catholic school. Some of the rubbish does still wear off on the general population, so we still most contend with that.
One teacher once said that California was "progressive". In discussing it with a good friend of mine later, he chucked a bit and said that most are clueless about what they are progressing towards. I can't agree more! _________________ Harvey |

For once I agree with Millet:
>Each and every bill listed, except 908 and 1322, are pure TRASH.
If your only choice is between this public school and a Catholic school, your are not very lucky down there!
Time to fight for a "normal" school! |

Public school is schooling for the great masses. I sent all of my children to a private Catholic school, where they actually teach real subjects, and have lots of homework and smaller class sizes. Now one is a Mechanical Engineer, one owns a rising business with sales currently at $2,000,000.00, and one is taking over the farm. Money very well spent on an a strong education, by an excellent run school system. . Many parents settle for an education system for the masses, a desperate failing system, taught by union school teachers. It is sad, as many outstanding private schools, religious and non-religious are available. Have you noticed none of the US Congress's send their children to PUBLIC school, yet they promote it. Its not hard to figure why. The term "PUBLIC SCHOOL' even sounds depressing. You get what you pay for. - Millet. |

Not to mention the 25% drop out rate in California in public schools. I guess after indoctrinating students on homosexuality, evolution, and global warming there just isn't enough time to study reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Philip, one of Denver's major PUBLIC schools (North High School) last year only graduated 29 percent of what was four years prior the entering Freshman class - a 71 percent drop out rate. Not one teacher with tenure lost their job. NOT ONE. - Millet |

Thanks. When all of this stuff blows up in California, Colorado may just get the GOOD and BAD families fleeing from California for greener pastures.

I believe it. I don't know about Colorado, but here in California, the teacher's unions have a strangle hold on education. They're the ultimate in hypocrisy. They claim to hold the best interests of the students at heart, but have no problem going on strike and abandoning their classrooms if they don't get their own way.
Anyway, not to sound like I'm painting all teachers with a broad brush. I've known many who really do care, but are equally held hostage by the unions. They also have the similar stories of students and parents who basically don't care about education being provided. The good teachers have to stop becoming teachers and spend more time as disciplinarians.

The answer is a good private school. If a student does not follow the rules he/she is soon to be expelled, and will once again be attending a PUBLIC school. Discipline and dress codes were strictly upheld, in all the private schools my children attended. I always appreciated the strict discipline shown by private schools. It made a big difference in my boys school years. - Millet |

That is unbelievable. However doesn't the school require a permission slip in order to take the kids off school property from their parents ? _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...
