Millet, yes, I called them and the lady I talked to was as nice as could be. We even talked about the neighborhood and I told her where I used to live and she knew the area and some of my old friends (one of whom is on the city council now!) Very postive experience - too bad they're closing up!

I visited Pacific Tree Farms a couple of months ago to purchase some of their tropical fruit trees and was actually suprised to see the "closing clearance" sign on the gates. I was also suprised to see how bad some of their trees looked and how inflated the prices were for certain tropical plants(Longan, lychee, sapote, pineapple guava, cherimoya etc.). On the other hand they had many nice large citrus specimens. The person helping me was very nice & went out of her way to show me each plant I was looking for. She was stumped though when I asked her about hardy citrus. Listed in their catalog is a maccioroli citrangequat & eromocitrus glauca which she could not produce. Prices were 30% off at that time, but I ended up buying most all my plants from other local nurseries. As for mail order, their catalog prices include preparation and postage.

I tell ya' I was expecting quite a bit more for $65. Apparently Joe was right, the sale did not apply to mail orders. This thing got here with more leaves off than on and a single immature fruit lying in the bottom of the package. Now, is it just me or does this (2nd pic) look like a double graft? Overall, I'm not real impressed. Maybe that's why they're closing.

Hi Casa. It looks like a single graft. The second area you are looking at is probably where the tree was "Topped" to force it to branch.

Millet:
Don't know if you saw my (other) post about contacting Pacific Tree Farms. I called to participate in their sale and was prompty told that "the sale doesn't apply to shipped items"...so I didn't order anything or continue the conversation.

It is nice to have a citrus forum that you dont have to worry about being sent to Disneyland! I ws very skittish about posting on GW after Spike sent me to Disneyland several years ago. Everything I posted, I felt like was being monitered by the KGB! Thanks Lazz for creating this one.

I had to laugh at this. I was sent there at least twice but he let me come back. I haven't really been there in a long time. I was so happy to see this venue born.
