The temperature varies considerably during the night and daytime. All of my bananas that was left outside without protection have their leaves browned but the p stem are still green, the bananas that are planted in my pergola plat which has a clear plastic roof spared the browning of leaves. So apparently in zone 9 we can save our bananas by merely putting some clear plastics on top of the plant which will save me some electric bill or gas bill. |

Thanks Gina. I am crossing my fingers with that CG. But I have some tools to make it happen under my sleeves when the frost sets in. I am watching weather forecast everyday. |

Here's an update of my California Gold. As of 1/26/09. Its been subjected to low temperatures but the leaves are still green.

California Gold 2/25/08. One good thing about it is that the bunches are less than 5 feet so you can grow them inside your greenhouse.
