I messaged him a couple of weeks ago. He said he had fruit now, so I asked if I could buy some of the fruit to try. I told him if I liked it I would buy some seedlings and cuttings if he didn't mind. His reply was.. I think you should buy some seedlings off my ebay page. hmmm

Don't forget to explain how you had to get past the penguin gardian army first Laaz bullwhip ....after driving your dog team for days to get to the secret pass. rk01_cavalchiamo Dang...these sound great. I'd like to put a down payment for the ticket to get in on the drawing for a future seed.

When I have my future hybrids living outside year-round in Maine thumbsup I'll be sure not to advertise them on eBay!

I look at that ebay store - He was able to sell 132 pc of "Cold Hardy Chinese Grapefruit Tree Seedlings" 9 USD each and 56 "Taichang Lemon Tree seedlings" 12 USD each so far- not a bad busines for this nonsence. BTW taichang seedlings on his ebay page have trifoliate leaves. Question Wink

several of us here in the Maryland, VA suburbs of Washington DC have planted citrumelos in 2006 or so. Most have seen near 0f and in single digits several times during that time, no loss yet. Some defoliation, butg all leafed back out. Waiting for blooms and fruit. Seems very tough for us , no problems. We are a solid zone 7a.

From my experience Swingle will fruit from seed in 3-4 years. Mine started fruiting in it's 3rd year with 5 fruit. The following year it had almost 80 fruit.

Also as far as this Ebay seller goes... I would bet he bought a tree grafted to swingle & the scion froze back. Now all he has left is the "Hardy grapefruit"... Laughing

In Europe you can have every other year -15C (5°F) and frozen ground for two weeks and still be in zone 7A.
You probably agree that it is not good climate for citruses.
