Joe, you also make America a better place in which to live. To my benefit, I was acquainted with many Filipinos when I was in the United States Navy. Found memories. - Millet |

Phillip, thanks!
What we also lost during the WWII is that the Japanese burned down the fantastic Citrus Germplasm Collection of the Philippines! That is why World War II is in a way related to this citrus forum.
I never knew Philippines had such collection that some cultivars in the UCR germplasm can be traced back to the Philippine Collection before Word War II. |

Thank you so much Millet! You're a bonafide American, who understands across various profiles. I'm a naturalized American a long time ago but always look back on helping how to improve my origins, one way or another, to make both worlds better. After all, America is the best melting pot of many ideas and cultures, hopefully bringing out the best and spread it to the rest. |

Jokes I don't mind so much, as long as everyone realizes it's just a joke.
But I do get tired of Palin being criticized for some things, such as troopergate. As if the bum that tasered his 10 year old son should have been fired! The bigger bum that didn't fire him deserved to be fired as well! The media seems more interested in protecting the crooks than the victims.
Glad you got your Internet back, Benny. _________________ Harvey |

Palin as Post turtle was only meant in fun. Like Phillip said, many peoples names were used as "post turtle".
Palin will be on Sat. Night Live this Saturday with Tina Fay...that should be very funny - she has a good sense of humor.
I also thought Obama & McCain were very funny at the dinner the other night. They poked fun at each other but in a fun way & everyone loved it. No attacks, just light hearted stuff. How refreshing. _________________ Patty

I already have. I can give you a summary of every debate:
Politician A: "My opponent is a bad bad person who wants to take money from starving children, seniors, poor, and polar bears only to give it to big mean nasty oil companies who contribute to the destruction of the universe".
Politician B: "Well, you are a triple bad person who wants to take money from the orphaned newspaper boy who works 1000 hours a week to feed his puppy and give the money to the drug addict who hasn't worked a day in his life and kills puppies for sport and pleasure."
Politician A: "Do not . . . ."
Politician B: "Do too . . ."
Politician A: "Do not times infinity. . . ."
Politician B: "Do too times infinity plus one. . ."
Debate over . . .
Media: (It doesn't matter if Politician A or B was the republican or democrat . . . ) "The democrat won the debate"

LOL Joe. Boy is he getting it! Poor guy. Now they found out he's not licensed LOLOL. It took some attention off the candidates.
Letterman gave McCain a lot of sh*t last night, but it was funny. _________________ Patty

Actually, I made up my mind on this election, which of the two candidates I was going to vote for, LONG before it was even known who the two candidates would be. - Millet |

I'd like to say I always hold out hope for a decent candidate from either party even though the party that is supposedly for the "little guy" rarely puts forth someone who really supports the rights of the truly little members of society. There is hope, though! http://www.democratsforlife.org/ _________________ Harvey |

I can pretty much count on which party I'll end up voting for in each election unless the Republican turns out to be just as liberal as the Democrat on the ticket. I the last election for the California Governor, I voted for the candidate on the American Independent Party (http://www.aipca.org/platform.html).
My largest disappointment in this election was that my congressional representative, Duncan Hunter, wasn't given the time of day by the media in is bid for the Presidency. In my opinion, he was without a doubt the most qualified and like-minded politician for the office.
