With the unusual low temps we are having now, I think all my plants THINK it's fall. Right now it's 47*!!!!
Yesterday I took the Winter banana apple scion off & re grafted onto a different branch. That entire branch died & I don't know why.

How is the Big Jim loquat doing? I have three small loquats planted from seed and just can not find any Big Jim bud wood here. Looks like anything to do with big Jim has to be shipped from Clifton’s nursery in California.
If anyone has any bud wood to share, I would really appreciate it.

Karl, Big Jim is doing great! It's about 12 inches & has a bunch of baby blossoms on it! Tree is 7ft (from soil) & just potted up to 28 gal pot. The McBeth graft did not take. I got the BJ budstick from a friend in VA.
None of the avo's took so I'm chucking the tree ...taking up too much room.
The Honey Crisp & Winter Banana apple grafts are doing great...maybe I'll get blossoms next spring. It's a 7 in one tree & last spring 2 varieties (Anna & Golden Dorset) blossomed & set fruits. Got total of 12 apples this year.
This has been a great grow year....got our first apples, 18 Ice Cream bananas maturing, loquats & one dragon fruit maturing - all first time fruits!
