Patty, it is my only fig, I have nothing to compare it to. Logee's said it was BT, so I believed them! Fert is just 15-9-12 3-4 month Osmacote.

Benny, that's a healthy looking tree too. It's little but I see a lot of figgies.
It looks more like a BT than SB's pic, but it's not. Describe what the skin & pulp were like & maybe I can help identify it. (figs dark or lite green w amber/red or white pulp?)
SB, I think I'll mix in some osmocote! I'll try to compare your leaves with something I have that is similar. Those leaves just aren't BT -- might be something even better LOL.

Patty:
I couldn't tell you because all fruits fell off because I forgot to water it for a long time. I just saw it all wilted, leaves and all when the fruit was almost ripening. That's what prompt me to plant it on the ground. At least it is on her own now and growing independently. I neglect it too much. The roots were all tangled up inside the pot . It grew so fast and take on water so fast.

Hi Vinny, yes we are near getting our fig cuttings.
To get pics on...how I do it, I put the pics in "My Pictures" on my 'puter 1st.
Then, I go to Photobucket ( they will tell you how to upload pics (download?) Go to Photobucket.com & register.) When there, go to 'My Album' & click on 'browse' it should take you right to "My pictures"& upload each pic. Black out the IMG tag (lower one) & then click on Edit & then 'copy'. Go to your post & then click on 'edit' again & then 'paste' onto your post ( you need a seperate window). Practice, practice. It's just Copy & paste your IMG from photobucket to your post. You will see it when you click on 'preview'. Hard to explain... hope it helped.
You got baby figgies yet? I DO! Laughing

Also seeing first blooms on guava and fruit set on the tree tomato.

I'm happy to report that all 8 of my fig trees have figs - some are almost 1 inch!!! I also did my first grafting 2 months ago... It. honey to brown turkey. no growth but it's still green when scratched. I'd like to graft all 4 others to my BT. Won't that be fun to get 5 varieties on one tree Laughing
Had a problem with my guava all winter & now it grew leaves back but is doing nothing. SB, what kind of mix do you have your guava in? What do you fertilize with?
I should take a pic & make a new post....later gators.

Hello, Patty

My guava are in raised beds in the greenhouse. The beds are filled with loam, well amended with compost and well-rotted horse manure (I have an endless supply of horse manure). The beds drain very well. I top-dress a little and fert lightly with 15-9-12 3-4 month northern Osmacote Plus minors.
I have my fig in CHC and it's doing very well.

Stress, how long has your guava been planted in the ground (raised bed), and how tall is the tree presently? What variety is it? Mine have already finished flowering and are presently putting on fruit, so I am now fertilizing them weekly. All my guava's are in containers. - Millet

Millet, glad to see you here. We bought our guava's about same time - same place last fall. You said yours came with some fruits on it?? I should post a pic of mine soon. It's got leaves back but it just looks so skimpy and no sign of blossoms. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Patty, is your guava in a high humidity area? Spray your guava as offen as you can with the hose. Guava's, are also big feeders, try fertilizing it every Saturday at 1/4 of the rate suggested on the package. You might also try watering it with Holy Water - Just kidding. Our trees both came from Tamara. Mine is about 4-5 feet tall, and has fruit the size of ping pong balls. I also have two guavas in a one gallon container, that are 18 inches tall and one is with fruit. I spray it with the hose, just about everytime I walk by it. - Millet

Thanks Millet, I remember last winter you said you sprayed them often so I did. I was also afraid of root rot though. I will try fertilizing more--24-8-16, what I use for citrus, and spray more...although the humidity is 50-60%

Patty, wetting the leaves does not wet the root zone much at all. I don't flood the foliage, I just frequently wet the leaves as I come and go.- Millet
