Very nice collection. I'm surprised you don't have most of them in the ground. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Thank you Laaz and Millet for the compliments.I plan on planting some of my citrus trees in the ground, but first they need to grow more in the pots.At the beginning of February I forgot to cover my kumquat and calamondin.Kumquat got frozen but nothing happened to calamondin. That night the temperature got down to 28F.

I am not convinced the top picture is a kumquat.

I'm 100% sure that it's kumquat Nagami. Two years ago I only had 2 fruits from that tree. I don't know what happened this year, kumquat Meiwa is ok but kumquat Nagami froze.

Nice plants Viktor. I have 7 large trees in the ground and they have all done well, but I do cover them when we drop below freezing. _________________ Skeet

Thanks. | I don't know exactly age my citrus trees.Red Navel orange,Eureka and Meyer lemons I bought at spring-summer 2005 for $20 in the 3 gal.pots.At first I planted my citrus trees in ground ,but at winter 2006-2007 they were frozen and I decided to transplant them in the wooden pots.Buddha Hand and Ponderosa lemon I bought at spring 2007 for $10 1 gal.pot.They were my first citrus trees . I decided to grow them in the wooden pots, because cold winter scared me.Some trees I bought in 2007-2008 and planted them in the plastic pots.Size of wooden pot:Top-20x20in.;bottom- 14x14in.;height-17in.I counted capacity this pots-about 15 gal., too heavy for me. |

Great looking trees viktor. I have a fruit cocktail citrus tree in a wooden pot I made myself. Its about 2 feet wide and almost 3 feet tall. I put wheels on the bottom so I could move it easily if needed.
Since your trees are doing so well, maybe I'll mimic the size of your pots for new citrus I'd like to get. Did you make them yourself? |
