I have a smaller yard, but I have my trees scattered-- some in tall tree pots - 9 to 4 plants in milk crates & some in 6 gal buckets etc. At left there's the fresh painted (almond) pots in crates and the bigger trees are in back - garden area. Those are grape-vines-going-wild along fence.
My 4"ponderosa ripening..and babies & more blossoms
It's almost 7 ft tall
Big Honey Murcot tree w/ tons of blooms & new growth

Myer lemon with 5 (about 1 inch) fruits & blossoms.
Can someone tell me if this growth on my satsuma is from rootstock? Looks like it's below graft, but leaves look the same. It also has a couple of thorns & the tree has none. I don't know what kind of satsuma it is.
New growth on satsuma & comfy chair behind that I never get a chance to sit on!
If you're wondering what that goofy looking planter is 2 pics ago, I made them out of 'tufa' (part cement). Here's the WHOLE family- & pet LOL
Here's Papa -- I know...he looks like Rodney Dangerfield LOL
More new growth from one's I thought I lost for good.
Almost forgot my pond pics. About 7' W X 9'L. Wait till thos lillies take off-- pond will be covered with pink lillies & pads in no time. Fish are hiding in rocks where they sleep in winter. I will post pics in about 2-3 weeks & you will see tons of lillies & flowers blooming all around yard
I made that copper "dragon snake", & water comes out of his mouth but I didn't have it running in pic.
It's about 28" deep. _________________ Patty

You call that a small yard?
My yard is less than half than yours.
Nice collections of plants! |

BTW, Patty, your satsuma growth spurt most likely is from the grafted material. Let it grow, then graft to it next year. It is a very prime spot for grafting other varieties, the budded cultivar would be vigorous on that new branch.
I love the Rodney Dangerfield planter. |

Patty where did you get the Satsuma ? If you got it from Stan or at the expo it should be on Trifoliata. If thats the cas the new growth is Satsuma not rootstock. |

Patty:
Just a friendly criticism: you should adjust your camera so the leaves are green and not brown in color. They don't look natural.
But you have a nice collection though. And how can you find time making those funny pots? Nice ones.

I think I got the tree from Jene's & on back of tag it says 'Timmermann's Citrus Nursery'. I'll get a better pic.
Benny, I know the pics are lousy -esp in bright sun. Everything looks brown/yellow & it's very green. The pics I took yest. are better cuz there was a little overcast then. The only settings I have on the cam is Low, med & high resolution...taken on Med. I'll try again on low & see what happens but if I remember, it makes the pics smaller.(?) _________________ Patty

You may need to adjust the color tones or hues to make it greener, I use picasa for that. You can download picasa from google web page, click More...
but here's the shortcut to picasa:
http://picasa.google.com/
It may take some learning curve to learn to use this tool properly, but its free and it works. |

I LOVE those planters you made, they are awesome! Right up my alley, they would look fantastic in my garden beside my Inukshuk I made this year. _________________ ♣Gen

Thanks Joe, I didn't show all my other plants - 8 figs, Brugmansias, palms etc. I dwnloaded Picasa & played with it.
Gen, what is a "Inukshuk"??
Garnet, which one is a "goatie"?
I think that growth is not rootstock but from satsuma. I will graft onto it in fall...see what happens! Now, what should I graft on it? _________________ Patty

Well I see my litttle sister has a green thumb. I also noticed you have painted all your containers white for the summer. Nice yard, nice trees, nice pond, nice girl. - Millet |

I see your link...thanks. Too busy now to click on but I promise, I will. Here's alink to " Grote Making". It's what it's called...out of tufu (too-fa).
It's where I got the idea from ..Grotes as in grotesque, or as Dali did... surrealistic. The "pet" I made is right up Dali's alley as far as 'surrealistic' LOL. I had fun (did these 3 yrs ago) hope you do too! With the perlite, peet & less sand in cement, makes it lighter in weight.
