Hard to tell by the photos, but aren't "Lunario" much thinner fruit with a neck ?

Laaz, yes, your photo goes well with this:
http://www.agrumicoltura.it/public/Img/119_Limone%20Femminello%20Lunario%20A%20-%20VCR.pdf

Adriano and I are discussing about variety "Mjesečar" localy offered by nurseries i.e. frequent blooming variety like "4 season" on english or "Lunario" on italian. What some nurseries offers could be Feminello Lunario but also could be a sub-type or even local selection. What is in fact behind the name "Mjesečar" is not yet clear to us.

lemons are good to me, but mandarins don,t behave well. Drought kills them every summer, because, i am not there all the time to water them.

thanks, my longterm plan is to remove olives and plant lemons. I hope my family will not log in to this forum. I would not like them to see my plans.

I don,t know. There is no meteorological station on the Island of Solta, and i did not track temperatures, because i don,t live there in winter months.
It is an island between city of Split (zone 9a) and island of Vis (zone 10a).

yellow arow is pointed at it.

Adriano, let me add a few info about Šolta:

Hypothesis about the name of island:
"The first known name of Šolta is OLINTA ( Olyntha ), and is mentioned by Greek geographer Scylax, who lived in 4th century before Christ. The Greek word means Olynthos "fig" (not yet ripe). So would Olyntha meant something like "island of figs." Also there is the view that the Olyntha named after the Greek city of Olynthos. When the ancient Romans, approximately at the time of Christ's birth, conquered Dalmatia, current Illyrian and Greek names are Latinised. The Romans were probably found similarity of Latin word " sol "(meaning sun) with the word SOLYNTHA. Having Šolta experienced as an "island of sun" they named it SOLENTA, of which probably originates the name of Šolta."
Original text of clumsy translation above, and more:
http://www3.ttf.hr/info/personals/Mira_Loncar_Dusek/solta_01.html

Queen Teuta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teuta_of_Illyria
Legend says that the queen Teuta (220+ B.C.) had castle on the hill above the bay Senjska. Fishermen used to throw part of the catch on all four sides to gain Teuta's favor and grace in further fishing.
Is Teuta still present in local folklore?

Climate: http://www.solta.hr/tz/en/Facts/climate.html
Striped from above "high sea temperatures (21°C - 22°C)."
Adriano, is that a typo, sea in summer is not that cold there?

Something to explore,
what could be the oldest citrus tree on the island?

Do you have beehive(s)?
One more Rolling Eyes my translation from Mira_Loncar_Dusek page:
Šolta has gained fame for its honey, which is said by Pliny (Pliny the Elder, Xlth book of his Historia Naturalis ? --my note)
to be equal to that of Himet (Mt. Hymettus, Athens, Attica --my note),
the honey considered as the best of that time.

Nice article from this woman Mira, never read this before.

The name of local fogotten disco club used to bear the name Teuta.
There are also some ruins on the southern part of the island, which apperantly used to be her castle.

The sea temperature has reached 29 celzius last summer, but it usually stays around 25 in summer.

There are old and neglected lemons in village Grohote, but i don,t know how old they really are. Young people leave the island, the old die, so no one takes care about long time ago planted trees. it is very sad to watch those forgotten trees of lemon inside ruined houses, which still, besides everthing mentioned, bear fruits.

We (my parents) have around 60 trees of olives and 20 trees of carob around the house. My grandfather has planted those trees 70 years ago.
Every autumn we harvest olives and get 70 to 120 liter of oil.
Almost everyone on the island harvest olives, there is only few of them who have beehive. It is probably not so profitable to have beehives, altough Solta is well known for its bees.
