I always use on citrus the inverted T budding. The use of inverted T-budding technique, it is much more effective due to the downward flow of hormones that are intercepted below the bud. Therefore, the union will be stronger and the healing process will be faster (as opposed to the normal T-budding method).

What's the best practice on a T-bud that has multiple buds? Do you remove them after the first or allow them to grow?

Mark,

I'm actually curious too... I ran into the "two buds" situation last May. On one graft, I removed the second sprout and decided to keep both on the other plant. Both seem ok now; the one with two sprouts seems slightly more vigorous... Guess, I will remove the second branch in the spring to make a single trunk tree.
