I have a bunch of fruit harvested & the kids have been cleaning them & sorting the seeds.
Let's try this, I'll do various seed packs for $10 including shipping to the US. You pick two varieties of your choice.
* I can send them over seas, but the shipping is going to be quite a bit more.
What I have are:
Yuzu
Sudachi
Panzarella orange
Satsuma
Clementine
Corrugated sour orange
Sanbokan lemon
Changshou kumquat
Cocktail grapefruit
Duncan grapefruit
Australian Sunrise lime
Calamondin
Changsha mandarin
Meyer lemon
Eustis limequat
Rusk citrange
Trifoliata (Standard)
Flying dragon
Swingle citrumello
Juanita tangerine
Pong Koa mandarin
Ruby red grapefruit
Variegated sour orange (This I believe is genetic variegation - The tree begins out green & will eventually produce variegated bud sports. It will also produce regular & variegated fruit on the same tree.) _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

This is a fact. And a universal truth (spoken by what appears to be the ONLY woman on this entire citrus board. Where the bloody heck are all the other ladies!?!)

Okay, my seeds have arrived, Laaz has given me "Citrus Seedling 101", and I am now in the need of a small St. Francis statue to stand guard over my seedlings. I am a serial seedling killer, so I need all the help I can get, sigh. I don't know what it is with me and citrus seeds. My gosh. 3rd graders can grow citrus seeds in styrofoam cups for goodness' sake. I have my containers, sterile soil, seed warming pads, and my kitchen window. Pray for me. And, if anyone knows where I can find a small St. Francis statue, always helpful! I'm calling in the Big Guns.

On Palm Sunday I bring home blessed palm branches from church . A lady from the Philippine Islands every year weaves the branches into the shape of a cross. I hang them from the branches of some of my citrus trees. Then the palm branches from the previous year that had been hanging in my greenhouse, are burned and the ashes are spread at the base of all the trees in the greenhouse. When I was selling chemicals to the commercial greenhouse industry throughout Colorado and New Mexico, the Italian flower growers, which were very very large commercial growers, would always hang blessed palm branches at the end of their benches of carnations, The vast majority of flower growers in Colorado were either Italian or Japanese. - Millet |

Well, if I could drag my St. Francis statue to the house I would, but it's too big, and it's guarding my north side of my yard So, I am going to get another smaller one for my south side yard, but bring it inside while I try to get these very special seeds to sprout. We always had our palm branches from Palm Sunday over our entry doorway, and in the doorway of the dining room. How lovely of your friend from the Philippines to do something so nice with the palm fronds. Every Italian has St. Francis in their garden. In fact, funny story about that: When we came to look at our house, the previous owner, who was Italian found out Dave & I were Italian. He had done a nice job with the landscaping, as as we were walking around to the north side of the yard, I mentioned to him, "you've done such a nice job, all you need to finish off your garden is a statue of St. Francis." You'd have thought the guy saw a ghost. We came around the side of the house, and there was St. Francis guarding the north side of the yard. Needless to say, he sold us his house. And, he left us St. Francis! _________________ Patty S.

I also have a statue of Saint Francis on the farm. He is standing near a bird bath in the front yard. Plus I have a statue of Saint Fiacre, patron Saint of gardeners, standing watch inside the greenhouse. He works 24 -7. I'm not Italian, but a full 1/2 of all the students in the private Catholic prep-school I attended were. I grew up in the Italian section of Denver. They certainly were some good looking girls. - Millet |
