Sorry about that, what I meant to say was, they designed small cars a long time ago. It is only now that the major car manufacturers in the US are rethinking and redesigning fuel efficient small cars. They have been laying off employees and shutting down plants for the bigger vehicles. Some of the remaining ones, they are retooling them for smaller cars.
Some people do need big trucks for their livelihood. But for commuting, it is a lot safer for two smaller cars to collide than two bigger cars colliding. Laws of Physics prevail between big and small cars. If everyone here went with smaller cars for their commute, excepting only those people on big trucks for their livelihood, then we will have a lot safer travel, a lot cleaner air, and no need to send troops to the middle east. |

Do you think that majority of the people, including the oil enriched Bush & Cheney, really believed that it is not the blood oil why our troops are primarily there? But primarily due to promoting democracy and stability? I believe that the majority of the people are smarter and fully aware of the real issues. Our troops are over there staking their very lives to keep oil cheaper so that we can afford to burn the gas with wanton abandon in our muscle cars anyway we please? We don't want to change our lifestyle, we don't want change at all. |

No I don't think so. Joe your getting close to the edge, be careful you don't fall off. Tell me, is it now a sin, for any one to earn money from the oil business? Your to blame, I am to blame, we the people voted the anti drilling Democratic majority into office. Bush, tried to get drilling in ANWR early on in this term, but was SOUNDLY turned down by the (you guessed it once again) the D-majority in the House and Senate. You have been living in California much tooooooooooo long. There is still empty land out here with fresh clean air that you can buy, and build a nice home. Get out of Pelosi/Finestein/Boxer land while you still can, but you need to hurry. Colorado is still looking for a few good men. Wish you the best. - Millet |

The first Bush term was a reupublican controlled congress, House and Senate! Second term started with a split congress, only now is it under Democratic control and just barely.
I agree with Joe---this war was to make Bush and his oil buddies rich --and it is working. _________________ Skeet

Here is a MUCH MUCH MUCH BIGGER ISSUE than oil or just the environment --- and that is BEER. A Belgium company has offered $46,000,000,000.00 to purchase an American iconic company Anheuser Bush Brewery of Saint Louis, Missouri. $46,000,000,000.00 comes to $65.00 per each company share. As of yesterday, Bush closed on the stock exchange at $58.00, so the Belgium enemy company is offering $7.00 higher than the stocks value. Are we in danger of loosing one of our premier companies to Europe? God save the Brewery. - Millet |

Cheney and Halliburton, you think these guys are friends?
Its so sickening I can't type without getting red in the face.
Lets keep that oil in the ground for another 20 years.
Lets all buy energy efficient CFLs
Lets drive smaller cars, commute with other people, or take public transportation.
True patriots would not force people to do these things.
True patriots would do them because they are socially responsible.
If that seems left of center, well......... good.
Think I'll change into some boxers in honor of Ms. Barbara

Scott, my friend, it is really nice seeing you post, its been a while. I guess I must be exempt from the patriotic list of things that good and socially responsible people do, because I have purchased a life time supply of regular incandescent bulbs, and I own a high octane fuel using Corvette (my second one), a fabulous car. Anyway, hope to see you at the next Citrus Expo, I still remember your Pommelo tree. -Take care of yourself. - Millet
(PS i see nothing wrong with Halliiburton, they seem like an excellent American company, providing a LOT OF AMERICANS with a good job that provides them with a good living, and excellent chances for advancement. ) |

Today, I had lunch with my former graduate studies professor who is now involved heavily with ecological and social studies about American Way of life, said something to the effect that "If the rest of world, specially China and India, that are rising up economically ever stronger, will aim to have the lifestyle of an average US citizen, we would need the equivalent of 5 new earth sized planets to accommodate everyone." |
